I am a parent of a passenger on their Caribbean Coach bus that took my son's football team from Maryland to Florida to participate in the national AAU football championships. The bus sent for servicing our group was not the style that was requested and paid for; There were A/C and heat issues throughout the trip; and on the way back the bus broke down one hour after departing Orlando, Florida. Our children and some parents were stranded for seven hours without any 'Plan B' from the company. Eventually, the group was somehow taken to sub-par hotels for the night that were infested with bugs and rodents.
Our group was told that a bus would be available the next morning at 10am and nothing arrived until 1pm on the day the group was scheduled to be back in Maryland. Calls to the company and it's staff went unanswered. Eventually, the group was informed that they would be transported from their location to 'South of the Border' to catch another bus to Maryland. This has been stressful to the parents in Maryland waiting for our children to return and not knowing their whereabouts. Our children have been excused from school to attend for 5 days and will now be missing additional 'unexcused' days from school which may hinder their school records permanently in addition to their ability to attend this competition in the future.
We are looking to receive some type of response to this situation from the immediate staff and someone at the corporate level as these practices of not answering the phone and being unresponsive for hours on end is unethical and irresponsible. Our main concern is the safety of our children who we left in their care to transport.
