I writing to share my poor experience with Thomasbrook apartments and their managementI moved into my apartment in September of the day my lease started and the day the manager and I agreed uponMy family took the time out of their schedules to help me move and fill a trailer with all of my belongingsWhen we got to the apartment it was obvious that it had not been finished being cleaned, the fridge was in the middle of the kitchen, the laundry machine was left in progress of someone working on it, the patio door was open and the air conditioning was onI then walked into the bathroom to see a dirty tub with a used band-aid in itI called the apartment manager with these complaints and she asked if I could move in another day than what we had discussedI told her no because my family was there to help me that dayAfter I had gotten moved in and finished cleaning the apartment myself it was a nice place to live aside from the management and the maintenance personnel who would come in unannounced and without notice to change my air filter, my light bulbs, and spray for bugsI can only think of one time that there was a sign up informing my building that there would be someone coming to spray the apartmentsI payed my rent through direct deposit from my checking account every month since I moved inWhen I wrote my notice that I was leaving the apartment to management I informed them of my new address and to call me if there were any issues since my lease would not be over for another month after I moved outI was not informed, however, that they were stopping direct deposits and I was slammed with a late fee and possible termination of my leaseI only knew about this when I came to clean my apartment one day and saw a letter stuck in the front doorI called the manager and she informed me that they said that they would stop direct deposits in the move out checklist given to me which I had never actually receivedShe did not believe me when I said this insisting that it was put in my mailbox by another staff member thereI then asked why they didn't call me when there was a problem with my payment and she had no reasoning for not callingOverall, it just appeared to me to be some cheap trick to get my lease terminated so they could keep my deposit and get a few more bucks out of me with the late fee as wellThey knew my apartment was empty because they had showed it to people already and the maintenance came to visit and left a note of service on my door handle

Thomasbrook Apartments is a huge financial risk and could be extremely damaging to your rental historyThey are a major inconvenience for anyone looking for a professional apartment communityDo not waste a minute of your time considering Thomasbrook ApartmentsI went through a month of scheduling struggles, and on my modate, the apartment wasn't readyIt's infuriating when you have movers waiting and your life in boxes
From the day I walked through the doors I had major problemsI should've known from the moment they wrote my credit card number down to take the $** application fee these people are not professionalsThere's no way to know what they could've done afterward so I've since acquired a new card
Anytime I spoke to their leasing agent she acted overloaded with work and she would repeatedly tell me how busy she wasAt one point she told me, "I'll deal with you when I get my actual move-ins taken care of." Every time I stepped into her office she made me feel as if I was an inconvenience
On the first day, they showed me their basic one bedroom apartment, which seemed fine, but while I was there I asked to see a "remodeled" unitI was told that I needed to come back so they can give the tenants a 24hr notice before they can show itThis was a lie and the start of some very inconvenient scheduling problemsThe apartment they showed me had been vacant for some time so I'm not sure what they were trying to cover upScheduling anything was a task in itself because we would agree on a time, I would rearrange my work schedule and then they would change the time again, or I would get blamed for showing up late when I actually wasn't
It's impossible to reference all the unprofessionalism that occurred, but over the course of a month, I made or trips to their officeOne of those visits happened because the apartment I put a deposit on wasn't going to be ready and they wanted to move me to a different unitI had an argument with the leasing agent because she refused to show me the unit before I agreed on switchingAfter I told her I was considering something else, she agreed to show meIt's unfortunate because the apartments do seem to be nicely updated, but after another week I ended up being switched back to the original apartment with a later modate because the "new" apartment was already rented
The Friday afternoon before my scheduled modate (November 18th, 2017) I went to look at the apartment a discuss the lease termsWhen we looked at my apartment they had just started on the replacing the flooring, however, I was assured it would be ready by the next morningWhen I showed up the next morning to move in the apartment was still under construction and not clean
I feel terrible for anyone who has had to deal with this business and I truly hope they restructure their management before more people go through problemsThe icing on the cake: after the countless inconveniences they will not reimburse me for the application fee
