Dear Ms. [redacted]: Thank you for the opportunity to answer the concerns of Mr. [redacted]. Thompson Builders LLC has built trust with clients through ethical performance of workmanship for over twenty years. During this time in business not one client has complained to the Revdex.com. This does...

not mean there has never been a client issue- it does mean that Thompson Builders LLC has a track record of addressing client concerns in a timely and satisfactory manner. It is industry standard to have a rough grade prior to a final grade to address any desired changes to the land elevation and smoothness. A final grade rakes over the existing topography to prepare the ground for seeding and fertilization. Mr. [redacted] contacted me for a quote to perform a final grade. The quote provided to Mr. [redacted] on February 13, 2016 is attached. As noted on this quote anything relating to moving substantial dirt would not be included in the scope of work. For example changing the topography of existing lot. Thompson Builders LLC was not hired by Mr. [redacted] to perform a rough grade of his property. The full scope of work listed on the February 13 th quote was performed on April 5, 2016. In addition to performing the work listed on the quote Thompson Builders LLC shoveled by hand at least 10 yards of dirt under an already built porch in order for the proper fall away from the home to be attained. This should normally have been completed during a rough grade. Thompson Builders LLC did not increase the price from the attached quote or bill for this work. Thompson Builders LLC responded promptly to concern raised by the homeowners by returning on Saturday April 9th at 8:30 in the morning. As agreed upon grading was performed where the dumpster, contractor bathroom and sign had been. (These were removed after April 5) Without additional charge and to work towards clients satisfaction. Also on this date Thompson Builders LLC removed {hauled off site) three logs that the homeowner originally requested to keep onsite for furniture making. We chain sawed some specific cuts of wood for Mrs. [redacted] to keep from this pile. Thompson Builders LLC did not send additional invoicing for these services nor was a "thank you" even voiced from the homeowners. As far as the grass seed was "spread so sparingly nothing will ever grow" is untrue. The home is built on fertile farmland. We placed a generous amount of Kentucky-31 seed, pelletized lime, 10-10-10 fertilizer and straw on entire yard at a rate in accordance with the manufactures recommendations. All work on the quote was performed. Every step of the way we went above and beyond to gain this clients satisfaction to no avail. The issues the homeowner is clinging relate to the overall topography of his property. We did our best to improve the site that was presented to us for a finishing grade. If he wanted to change the slope of his yard a rough grade should have been arranged prior to Thompson Builders LLC's arrival on site. In closing we feel this complaint should be promptly closed without any negative notation against Thompson Builders LLC . Sincerely, Doug T[redacted] Thompson Builders

Review: We hired Thompson Builders LLC. to perform final grade and seeding on our new home. The quote included -tooth up and power rake all roots, as well as seeding, spread new gravel for driveway, and final grade disturbed areas.

Once the job was complete, there were roots everywhere. There was grass seed spread so sparingly that nothing will ever grow. There were bricks and other debris in my yard that would show that he did not power rake correctly. The sloping of our land is horrible. Two weeks later I have 5-6 LARGE mud puddles in the middle of my yard that will not drain. Water collects around the house substantially. Our yard has made our dream home a nightmare.... I am on the waiting list for another contractor to fix Thompson Builders mess. I am having to pay extra to fix the land enough to even begin the grading process and repair.Desired Settlement: I would like to see my money refunded minus the cost of the gravel.
