Our manager did attempt to contact customer the day she called(5/29) @ [redacted] (the only number we have on file) and left a message to give us a call back at approximately 5pm. Although it was not clear we were at fault, we were going to let [redacted] know that we were looking...

for a replacement radio to install at no cost to them. We have not heard back from the customer, and were just delivered a replacement radio today 6/2/15. We were going to attempt to contact them once the radio was delivered. We received the Revdex.com complaint before we were able to contact them. We will attempt to contact customer at this time using the number we were originally provided along with the number given in this complaint to clear this situation up.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

[redacted] I was contacted by the owner, Bryan V[redacted] of Thompson's and he was very nice and explained their point of view regarding the "Shop Fees" charge.  Mr. V[redacted] agreed to credit my account for this charge.  He also said Thompson's will now advise all customers about the "Shop Fees" when they bring the car in.  I feel Mr Vi[redacted] was very fair and reasonable with me and I am completely happy with the resolution and I will use Thompson's Auto Repair again now understanding there is a "Shop Fees" charge.

Review: On 12-10-15, I dropped my 2003 Hyundai Sonata off at Thompson's Auto Repair for a starting problem and oil change. I was told there would be an initial diagnostic fee of $106. I was later contacted by phone and advised the repair bill would be $353 as I needed a fuel pressure sensor replaced. I agreed to the charge and my car was repaired that same day. I was given a copy of the bill and saw it was for the $353. When I got home I reviewed the bill and saw that a fee of $25 for "Shop Fees" was included in my bill. I called Thompson's and spoke with "Chuck" asking what this fee was. Chuck said it is for shop supplies that were used. I asked Chuck to please let me know what supplies were used that would come to $25 and he said there is a "standard" 8 percent Shop Fee added to every bill. I was told in advance by Thompson what my bill would be for the repairs, but never told, either when first bringing the car in or upon picking it up, there was an 8 percent additional charge for "Shop Fees" added in. Since I am being charged $25 for this fee I feel I have the right to know what shop supplies were used on my car. I have no idea what, if any, supplies were used to warrant this charge. If there is a "standard" 8 percent fee added to every bill for Shop Fees that should be explained to the customer in advance. If Thompson's feels they want to charge an additional 8 percent fee for shop supplies that is totally their right, but my feeling is they should advise the customer upfront of this fee and let the customer decide if they accept it or not.Desired Settlement: I respectfully request the Shop Fee of $25 be credited to my charge card as I was never told in advance of this charge. I am not disputing Thompson's right to charge whatever they like for their services, but I do feel they should tell the customer in advance of all "standard" fees that will be added to the bill.

Review: My husband had our 2006 PT Cruiser towed to Thompson's because we had a busted radiator. Everything else, inside and out was fine. When I went to pick up the vehicle, I paid and got inside the car. It was then that I discovered that the auxiliary cable had been pulled from the input plug on the radio and the input area was damaged. I immediately walked back in and let the front employee know. He stated that his manager was out on a test drive and would be back. Seeing as how I needed to continue running errands, I asked if I could come back later that day and speak to the manager. It was ok with them. So, I arrived back at about 4pm and the manager basically said he didn't see how his best mechanic, who worked on this car, could do anything like this and that maybe this was like this BEFORE we brought it. I stated that no, it wasn't because we were clearly able to listen to music before we had the car towed in, and now we can't. Besides, why did they even need to sit in the car in the first place other than to test drive it? The manager stated that he would need to speak to his owner about the problem and would give me a call the next day. It has now been 3 business days and I have not heard from them. I called them 24 hours after speaking to them in person and the manager just blew it off as "oh, yah, uh....I haven't had TIME to talk to the owner, but we'll let you know"Desired Settlement: I'd like to have our radio replaced. The reason for this is because the auxiliary input is connected to the radio and now the input no longer works properly. I would like for it to be replaced with one of our choosing, up to an amount agreed upon between us and the business and for labor to be included as well.
