I had hired him to represent me for the IRS. His fee was $1500 and $500 up front. He sent my papers to the IRS. I called him and left a message on his answering service. Months have passed and the IRS called and said that she has reached out to him but was unable to contact him. Because of his lack of communication with them, they to garnished my wages and put a lien on my house. I have continued to call him but can only leave a message on his answering service. The IRS have sent me paperwork to complete. I wanted to have him provide the service I paid for, however I had to complete the paperwork and it was wrong. I feel this is unacceptable.
The client did not pay her fees in full. She paid a retainer of $500 to start work on her case, but she never paid the balance as agreed. In the letter it states if you don't pay the fee, the engagement would be canceled without notice. The contract clearly states that the $500 retainer fee is non-refundable. In the agreement, it states that the fees must be paid in full before we file the taxes. We went ahead and filed them for her anyway because she said she would pay the balance over three months and she didn't.
