My wife and I recently purchased a mini-split ductless heat pump from Costco and I wanted to share our experience. As we were leaving the store one evening we walked past the endless line of custom installations which can be purchased through Costco. The heat pump demo was set up and we decided to take a brochure. After investigating further through the Costco website we decided to have a free in home estimate. Only a few hours later [redacted] from Shines Energy was calling me at home to set up an appointment. We were both available the following day and agreed to 4:00 PM.
** showed up on time and from the moment he walked in the door his positive and friendly demeanour had us sold. I wasn't sure what system we were going to install but I knew we were going with Shines Energy for our heat pump purchase. ** was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time answering all of questions and we never felt rushed. There were multiple times when he could of sold us more equipment than our home required but instead made it a point to tell us that even though he would love to have more of our money he would never sell something that wasn't required. I was completely shocked! I have never had a sales person be so honest and up front. We made up our mind within a few hours and signed the contract.
The installation was just as smooth. The crew showed up exactly when promised and immediately began the work. Every step was explained as they went and both young men were very friendly. The entire installation was completed by 4:30 that afternoon. My wife and I received a thorough tutorial on the operation and all of our questions were answered. After they left you couldn't even tell they were in the home...except for one small issue. On the basement carpet there was two small marks which were caused by a step ladder. It appeared to be some kind of rubber or tar. I tried my best to clean it but had no luck. The following day I contacted ** and he immediately apologized and passed this information to the company owner [redacted]. [redacted] called and must have apologized 20 times. He gave me his word this would be resolved "no matter what". He even went as far as telling me they would replace the entire basement carpet (2500.00) if required. I was in shock again! I wasn't expecting this type of response. I assumed everyone involved would deny any wrong doing and we would just have to live with it. Boy was I wrong.
[redacted] sent a professional carpet repair company to our home the following day and within 45 minutes you couldn't tell there was ever an issue. I immediately referred Shines to my parents for their heat pump needs and after hearing our story with the carpet they didn't even bother with a second quote. Sometimes it's not the best price! This is a company that stands behind their work and products and will do anything to make sure the customer is happy with the results. From the moment I first spoke to ** I could tell he was passionate about his job and helping people understand what they need. It was never about money. ** cut costs for us at every opportunity. I'm not even sure they made any money by the time he was finished. I have referred Shines to multiple people since this and will continue to promote this excellent company. We couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out. Thank you guys.

The day I walked into a Ford Dealership (I use the company name but, it's the people I'm referring to and in specific the people at Maclin Ford) all that mistreatment dissappeared, there was no judgement, I was called by name by at least three separate people whom I had never met, was welcomed in, offered coffee and made to feel as if I was a person not a number or potential sale; that was enough to make me say:

"Hey you...yeah you over there, you should buy a Ford from these guys...they're awesome!)

After the exceptional treatment I received at Maclin Ford, I felt everyone should know how we were treated and level of professionalism we received! I cannot speak highly enough about it!

I have contacted media, have tweeted and posted in every social media avenue I have to tell everyone about my experience.

To add to already LONG list of impressive gestures, I recently received a phone call from Ford Canada head office. Amazingly they took 1/2 an hour out of her exceptionally busy day just to say "Hi", "Thank you" and listen for a few moments and even left contact information so that if she could help in any way I could contact her...AMAZING! (it took me 6 months just to not Speak with a outsourced Customer service company with the other manufacturer! (VW))

In all my years of dealing with large corporations I have NEVER had ANY business pay such close attention to people (again, I'm not even a customer yet!).
Ford listens, takes an interest and time for each person that is fortunate enough to walk through one of their dealership doors (or at least in my experience Maclin's doors).

Long and Short... I just wanted to say to the people at Ford Canada and Maclin Ford who have taken the time to make a difference in one family's life... THANK YOU for treating my family with respect and care...
