Through the Glass Dog Doors

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I wasn't made aware that there would be damage to my brand new sliding glass door Had the product been installed, some amount of damage may have been acceptable however, given the fact that nothing was installed, the damage to the door is unwarranted Yes, I did receive a full refund but that would be expected since no work was completed Given the fact that the primary function of this business is to complete this type of work, they should have known upon inspection of my door at the time of the quote, or the first of two times that they came out to install the glass, that the work couldn't be completed My property was damaged due to negligence, I attempted to offer this business the opportunity to work with me and install a different product that would still provide me with the dog door that I needed and also compensate them for the time and labor They chose to do nothing except leave me with a damaged sliding glass door and front screen door Sincerely, [redacted] ***

I wasn't aware of the screen door damage which i've offered to fix I can offer you a $for the door scratches but am unable to replace the entire door Again apologies that I was not able to complete the install, scratched the vinyl on your door and for the screen door damage

I did make an error in my initial glass measure.  It happens, not very often or I would be in business but this does happen when in the reglazing industry.   The process when installing a through the glass dog door is to essentially retrofit the existing door with a new insulated glass...

unit and a dog door.  In the process of removing the original glass there may be some minor cosmetic damage as part of removing the glass and especially when working with vinyl doors.   This material is easily scratched and cut.  I did fully refund the customer after purchasing 2 insulated glass units because of my mistake.  I was very diligent to remove the glass, using all techniques at my disposal hence the scratches in the vinyl when I determined the glass could not be removed without causing potential functional damage to the door.  I most likely didn't explain the process in full detail and going forward will be sure that all of my potential customers are aware of cosmetic damage that could appear as a result of the reglazing and that although this product is very clean and professional looking when installed but after all is retrofit to existing exterior doors.   This is the first I've been made aware of the screen door issue.  I will gladly come repair the screen door.
