We had to close our Sandy Fitness Center due to unforeseen circumstances financially and the landlord putting us on short notice. We received notice from the landlord literally weeks before we were required to vacate, thus causing us to scramble to find options for our members.We have given
our members options to transfer their membership to alternate facilities, which we are not required to do, but we wanted to make the transition as comfortable for them as possible. We understand that it is not an ideal situation for our members but our members need to understand it isn’t ideal for us to have a close a business.We put a time frame on gathering the responses from members as to their desired transfer location because without it there would be no way for us to manage the transfer process. The members that got back to us after the cut off date were not penalized and frankly there are still members that we are dealing with to help them find a new workout home. I recognize it was a short timeframe but we didn’t have to give them options or time, we could have just sent out a letter to all members stating that their membership would now be serviced by Life Centre. We didn’t do that because we care about our members and want them to continue on with their fitness journey.This has been an extremely hard situation for us. We are family owned business and we have put every bit of money we have into making these gyms work. Unfortunately it hasn’t been enough to keep both gyms afloat and sometimes businesses don’t make it. We have and are trying to do the best we can with the resources that we have. I realize that some people will never be satisfied or happy with the outcome. Our hope is that those individuals can put themselves in the shoes of my wife and I who emptied our savings and cashed in our children’s college funds all in an effort to make these businesses work.Sincerely,Justin F*843-568-2865jF*thryvefitnesssolutions.com
