Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/10/21) */ In response to your complaint, let us try to understand your complaint, vis-à-vis what really happened. You brought your motorcycle to our shop and said you wanted it disassembled for powder coating and promised to pay later. A year later you... brought back piles of greasy, filthy dirty parts in boxes. Half the parts went to another motorcycle, one quarter of the parts you lost, and the rest were worn out. However, you told us you wanted us to build you a bike from these parts, and that these were all the parts. You asked how much and was told, "A couple of thousand dollars down will get the job started." Does this sound familiar so far? I guess I fail to understand people who think they can feed a horse used oats and then expect it to run. As we informed you when you appeared here with the Police (thinking you could intimidate us into letting you take the bike for free) the hours, parts, service, and storage charged against your motorcycle are all legitimate and supported by tangible evidence at every point. Addressing the variation in price that you mentioned in your complaint, we cut the amount owed to us in half just so you would take your drama elsewhere-but you mistook kindness for weakness and thumbed your nose at our gesture. Therefore, the balance you owe us stands, and your time is running out before we begin legal action, per our demand letter. Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2015/10/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) On X-XX-XX the bike was brought to you for R&R Engine/Transmission, Strip down to Rollin' chassy. The plan was for you to send engine/transmission for outside labor to be rebuilt. you stripped down the bike & put parts in boxes. Someone forgot to send the motor/transmission out and after about 6 months of waiting I found out about it. They didn't get done until around Sept-Oct 2013. I have a receipt that says paid in full. I paid exactly what you gave me as a estimate. before my accident I planned on rebuilding & painting bike.I bought new parts so I could rebuild bike. because I could no longer do all the work myself I asked you & your co-owner how much it would cost. XXXX-XXXX was estimate and it would take 20-24 hrs of labor. Your response is not truthful just like the work order. I was told by your co-owner you did not do the work hours you are claiming, most parts provided were new and you ordered some parts yourself. I do not owe you any money work not completed.
