Ms. [redacted]'s vehicle was towed by my company at the request of Yolo County Sheriff Department because the vehicle has not been registered since 2001 and she has unpaid parking infractions on this vehicle. Therefore, when the driver (which was not Ms. [redacted])was stopped we were called to remove this...
vehicle from public streets. My driver received the call at 11:54 PM on 04/05/2015, starting the charges at that point. After midnight the charges roll over to the next day. Our towing charges are $195 per hour and because the driver of Ms. [redacted]'s vehicle requested to remove all his belongings from the vehicle and the 45 minute response time to the scene (being in a different town) the call from dispatch to dropped in our yard was 2 hours. We charge $50 per day (starting on 04/05/2015) and a lien sale charge of $70. Therefore, the chargers on this vehicle are the following TO DATE...Towing 195/hr @2 = 390.00Storage 50/day @18 = 900.00Lien Sale $70/pack @1 =$70.00Note: Ms. [redacted] contacted our office a total of two times and was volatile even after it was clearly explained to her that she has to pay to date the registration and parking infraction on this vehicle before it can be released to her (per the law). Once she pays them she can bring proof of doing so current insurance and current drivers license to get her vehicle. Her first call was made to our office three or four days after being towed and again yesterday on 04/21/5015.In our line of work we must follow the laws and policies as our customers must do the same to drive legally and safely on public streets.
