I have attached a copy of the ad with the disclaimer enlarged and an actual photo copy of the ad that was included with the complaint I highlighted the line in yellow so it can be seen better on the photo copy!

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I can appreciate the fact that their coupon had the standard legal disclosure printed in fine print this is clearly a grey areaWisconsin's fair advertising laws address this issuePoint 1) During my conversation with the tech on duty, he clearly admitted they had p***icipated in the promotion, although by defaultThey were clearly given an opportunity by Meineke to not be included but failed to respond to the emailBy failing to respond, they are agreeing to p***icipateThat is the entire purpose of a business being notified by email of an up coming promotionPoint 2) This flyer is only branded to this specific addressAgain, because the business choose to p***icipate in this direct mail campaignIf this were a blanket mailer distributed throughout the community and was not specific to a location, the disclaimer may be validWisconsin clearly has laws on the books to address truth in advertising and it's the consumer's responsibility to hold business accountable to unfair or deceitful pricing and advertising practices Regards, [redacted]

Unfortunately, as you can see from the flyer this price was specifically marketed with this location's address and phone numberNo where on the front or back does this flyer state "vary by location" or "p***icipating locations only"If the advertisement included one of these legal disclaimers your business would have a pointThe Wisconsin state statue 100.18 specifically address truth in advertisingI can respect that the business did not want to p***icipate in their corporate mailer, but the responsibility to p***icipate or not to p***icipate clearly lies on the business not the consumer.

I received your letter dated February 5, 2016 regarding Mr. [redacted]'s complaint. We told Mr. [redacted] that this location was not p[redacted]icipating in the $14.95 oil change that Meineke Corporate had advertised.  It is not possible to purchase 5 qu[redacted]s of oil and a filter for $14.95.  ...

Since we are not subsidized by corporate we can not afford to pay people to change their oil.We did try to offer Mr. [redacted] a compromise during his visit by offering the oil change for $19.95, which, is $10.00 off the normal price.  He only wanted the $14.95 oil change on the flyer.  It clearly states on the flyer at p[redacted]icipating locations only. We are sorry that Mr. [redacted] did not get his cheap oil change.  He was also to try another Milwaukee location to see if they would honor that coupon.Best Regards,[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I can appreciate the fact that their coupon had the standard legal disclosure printed in fine print this is clearly a grey area. Wisconsin's fair advertising laws address this issue. Point 1) During my conversation with the tech on duty, he clearly admitted they had p[redacted]icipated in the promotion, although by default. They were clearly given an opportunity by Meineke to not be included but failed to respond to the email. By failing to respond, they are agreeing to p[redacted]icipate. That is the entire purpose of a business being notified by email of an up coming promotion. Point 2) This flyer is only branded to this specific address. Again, because the business choose to p[redacted]icipate in this direct mail campaign. If this were a blanket mailer distributed throughout the community and was not specific to a location, the disclaimer may be valid. Wisconsin clearly has laws on the books to address truth in advertising and it's the consumer's responsibility to hold business accountable to unfair or deceitful pricing and advertising practices.
