Very unhappy with the service
I was a loyal customer until early 2022 when Tidewater Energy personal arrived on my property to locate the tank so they could add a 'Smart Meter' onto the 2, 125 gallon propane tanks, I had never had an issue with running out because I always checked and ordered more in time so there was no need for their ' 24-7 Monitoring of my fuels amounts', and with what I know about how faulty 'Smart Meters' can be, they can create sparks and are not trust worthy to me and the safety of my family! I asked them to NOT install a possible triggering device, that may turn my home propane tanks into a 250-gallon bomb just outside of my home! They refused my request and decided to end service to my home, leaving my family with no option but to find another propane delivery source! They overstepped their bounds in attempting to force my compliance on this matter, attempting to put my family in unreasonable danger, I would not recommend to anyone to make Tidewater Energy their propane provider, they want to put you and your family in danger with their 'Smart Meters' and you cannot refuse that option. When did America, the home of the free, become "Do as we say or you get to freeze this winter'? Its comply or you get nothing, one thing I've learned in the last couple of years, I refuse to comply to illogical requests and do not trust those that impose them upon us and neither should you!

I live at [redacted] bath NC, I have a leaky tank, I even had them come out and look at it over 4 weeks ago. I was told it would be fixed, I live at [redacted] Rd bath NC, I have a leaky tank, I even had them come out and look at it over 4 weeks ago. I was told it would be fixed, it is not and some genius keeps filling the tank after I have told them not toAt this point I want the tank removed and credit for whatever gas is left in the tank this week. It is a fire hazard to my house. I have taken a number of pictures if needed I would like solve, if possible and fairly. I already paid 200 plus a 72 service fee which I have no idea why since nothing has been done to fix the tank. I now also have two other bill since their techs did not fix the tank and it still leaks and as I stated someone kept filling it up.I want to tank picked up this week for the biggest reason it is a fire hazard and I keep getting bills for gas I have not use but has leaked out of the tank that was never repaired. [redacted] C [redacted]@gmail.comDesired SettlementI need the tank removed from my house as soon as possible it is a fire hazard, I also want to work with them on the billing, since I contacted them and told them it leaked over 4 week ago and their techs came and and said it was leaking.I do not want to pay for the last two times they came and filled a leaking tank they never fix.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] ManagerContact Phone: 250/946/6597Contact Email: [redacted]@suddenlinkmail.comOn Jan,29,2016 a work order was processed to check leaking tank at [redacted] Bath NC. Service tech arrived check tank and found a small leak at the valve stem it was tightened up and leak stopped. the leak was very small to the point of not being able to measure loss of product in tank. once leak fixed we continued delivery schedule. I received first email from customer on April,5,2016 and responded. customer said phones were not working and could not respond to me. We had several emails and one phone conversion that I thought cleared thing up so I will respond to last email to clear things up. On April,6,2016 me and customer had a phone conversation about his tank (he owns tank not Tidewater energy). The tank in question has always been the property of the owner of said house at [redacted] second we fixed the tank per his request and charged service call because it is a customer owned tank as per SOP, we delivered gas after fixing tank because it was not leaking and customer paid the service call so he new we fixed tank or at least been to his property. The customer stated that he could not have burnt the amount of gas we said he did because he only has gas logs, he is incorrect the house in question also has gas heat in the form of a gas pack heating unit. So owner of the property did not know he owned the tank or that he had gas heat other than logs. Per the phone conversion I offered to remove said tank he owns and replace it with a new tank we own and put the exact amount of gas from his tank to our tank at no charge. Our employees followed SOP. April,6,2016 is the first time I have talked with customer. I also told customer after we switched the tanks out per his request in writing we would perform pressure test on the gas system at no charge to him. As far as for not wanting to pay for the last two gas fills he is responsible for them because he used the gas for heating his house that is a vacation home through his gas pack. If customer had of contacted me first we could have worked this out with know problem. The tank is a 125 gal laydown tank which holds 100 gals full. Tank has no data plate so if switched out it would have to be disposed of which I told him we would do at know charge. Consumer Response I did speak to the gentleman and he did state they would change out the tank, I did not use the gas pack in the home because I was not there. If the leak was as minor as he stated I should not have been able to smell it from about 10 ft away from the tank.I will pay for the gas and then make a determination if I will keep them as a supplierI understand he is protecting his business, but after calling Tidewater before and not getting any response I was very frustrated. It may not have been this managers direct fault, and I do believe he is trying to deal with a very unhappy customer after the fact. I wish I had been able to reach him first. I am looking at possibly changing out the Tank as long as I know he will be looking after things. I have just lost faith in the rest of tidewater. I also was not informed that was not a tidewater tank till I was able to talk to him. I would not have had that tank filled but replaced had I know that in the first place. Final Business Response Due to the lack of a measurable leak that did not register on the gauge and the fact that the owner did not realize he had a gas pack heating unit that was what was using the gas in the first place he is responsible for paying his bill in full. He thought he had a leak, the reality was the gas was used by the gas pack heating unit no leak caused a loss. He needs to pay the bill because he used the product.

Im an existing customer of 3 years. I have called them to come fill up my tank on Monday October 20,2014. The lady at the front desk told me someone would be at my house that day. NEVER SHOWED UP! Called that same day at 4:00 p.m. The ladt said she would call to see who had my ticket and she would call me back. NEVER RECEIVED A RETURN CALL. Called first thing Tuesday morning October 21,2014. They said they would see who had my order and give me a call back to tell me an appt. time. NEVER RECEIVED A RETURN CALL. I called again at 12:00 p.m. and they sated that they have been out of gas since friday the week before and did not know it. Then at 4:00 p.m. that same day I called back again and spoke with the manager,[redacted] he stated that I had to come in and give my payment before they would ever bring gas. Not what the office ladies had previously said. They said someone would come out then I can take my payment. Went on Wednesday october 22,2014 and gave them my payment of which I have never been late or have I never not paid. They said someone would be there that same day. NEVER SHOWED UP! My husband called on thursday october 23,2014 and spoke with [redacted], the manager.[redacted]told my husband that he doesn't know the routes but someone would be there by Friday October 24,2014. And also said that they over charge on an estimate because they don't know how much it will take to fill the tank up. I prepaid more then what it should take to fill my tank up. I should only have to pay 168.80 for 80 gallons of propane at 2.11 a gallon. I prepaid 226.00. I would like a reimbursment of the left over money that I paid. The manager told me the gas was $2.11 a gallon. Also the lady at the front desk that took my payment was really rude from the start and threatened to remove my tank and said she could careless if we froze.Product_Or_Service: propane Desired SettlementI would like a refund of the full amount I paid extra for and I would like them to be on time and get organized. I would also like to be dealt with in the most professional way possible. Even if the customer is angry that doesnt give them a right to be angry with us. Its cold outside. Business Response Customer is a "will call" account and gas was delivered per company policy. Customer also wanted refund because price is lower now than when tank was last filled. It was explained that price fluctuates (as does all energy costs) and customers are charged based on the current market.
