Tiger Kim's Tae Kwon Do Reviews (4)

To whom it may concern:    This is in response to ID- 12656782   The customer Wendy L [redacted] registered her son for classes on May 2 2017. We give each family a choice of two membership options Ms [redacted] chose our one year program. We also offer the opportunity to register early...

and for go any free classes for a discount on our program. By forgoing the free classes Ms [redacted] saved $149.00 on our program. Our memberships have in writing right above where our customers sign that this membership is a contract. Our memberships are designed this way because the benefits of focus, discipline, respect and confidence are not taught in a short amount of time.    I had one conversation with Ms [redacted] regarding her sons membership. She stated that the child no longer wanted to come to classes. However, our organization will not cancel memberships simply because a child does not want to attend class. Our cancellation policy is a relocation of medical notice. Our memberships are similar to types of gym memberships, if the customer choses not to come then that is the customers choice but they are still financially obligated. Ms [redacted]’s religious beliefs never came up at any time that she or her son where in our facilities. Bowing to both the American and Korean flag is a sign of respect similar to putting your hand over your heart when we say the pledge of allegiance. Our most senior instructor has the title Master because he is a Master in our martial art. According, to our attendance report Ms [redacted]’s son attended classes for 6 months before she stopped bring her him to classes. If Ms [redacted] truly had a concern about her religious beliefs why is it only being brought up now and not 6 months ago. Bowing and the term Master are used from day one in our school.    Ms [redacted]'s choice to remove her son from classes does not relive her of any financial obligations. We tried to contact Ms [redacted] many times when we stopped seeing her son in classes with no response.    Many children are able to truly benefit from our program. I am sorry Ms [redacted] chose to remove her son form classes. Please let me know if there are any questions and I have attached supporting documents.    Thank you, Jessica [redacted]

my email to you of April 1, Tiger Kim Tae Kwon do retains a third party vendor to handle client billing for customers like Mr. [redacted].  That company is Allied Acceptance Corporation.  (AAC).  AAC has now provided the attached documents: Mr. [redacted]’s Membership Agreement and a welcome letter from AAC.  The Membership Agreement makes clear that Mr. [redacted] had the option of paying the full price of membership at the inception of the agreement and offered “you may finance your membership and pay in installments.  To pay in installments, you are requesting us to establish a retail credit account for you…”  Upon receipt of the Membership Agreement, AAC sends customers like Mr. [redacted] a welcome letter.  His letter is attached.  Representatives of AAC inform me that if they do a credit check, they do so only after sending the welcome letter.  They tell me they did not do a credit inquiry on Mr. [redacted], but after debiting his account did a credit report, which I understand is a reflection of his timely payment.                  I understand Master Wright of Tiger Kims has made an effort to contact Mr. [redacted] on one or more occasions, but has not yet been able to speak to him.  I understand Tiger Kims would like to resolve this matter in a mutually satisfactory manner.I will advise you once Master Wright has been able to speak to Mr. [redacted].Thank you for your attention to this matter.John F[redacted]John R. I am rejecting this response because:  No, we did not attend six months as the business claimed.  We also did convey our concerns to the school in response to a phone call when my son missed class because he felt uncomfortable.  This company will continue to fast talk parents, and have zero concern if a child is happy there.  It’s all about the money.  On one occasion, Miss [redacted] even made a comment jokingly, that because my son chewed up and wrinkled his attendance card, that she was going to “throw him under the bus.”  Very unprofessional.

Review: I agreed at the time of setting up services to have my credit card automatically drafted for services rendered. My understanding was that AAC (Affiliated Acceptance Corporation) would be responsibile for drafting my payments from my credit card. What I was not advised upfront, nor authorized, was a hard inquiry hit on my credit report AND a separate loan from AAC on my report. This is completely deceptive, unfair, and never was communicated during the intial setup of services. Now my credit report has been damaged along with my credit score dropping tremendously. Not only would I like to report my issue but would like to have the loan taken off from my report and other potential customers remediated as well. I do not have a problem paying for the services that I intially signed up for (hence why I gave my credit card) but the inquiries/loan information on my report is not warranted and not authorized.Desired Settlement: Not only would I like to report my issue but would like to have the AAC loan taken off from my report and other potential customers remediated as well.
