Hi, I have a problem with a set of re-finished (re-chromed) [redacted] 735.cm irons (3-PW) that I purchased from [redacted] GolfAfter months of regular use, playing 2/times a week, (they are well looked after, not exposed to extreme weather temperatures and stored in my house), the chrome plating has started to bubble and come off the ironsThe damage on each of the clubs is in the same specific area around the plug on the sole of the club heads, which leads me to believe that there was an error in the re-chrome procedure [redacted] has told me that he only offers a months warranty as do all [redacted] manufacturersIf [redacted] golf specialises in re-finishing and re-chroming golf clubs then I would expect this not to happen less than one year (months) of regular use, I believe the irons are not fit for purpose and an error was made with the re-chroming and is not in any way due to general wear and tearI have played golf for years and never seen this happen on anyone's irons

Dear ***
I will start with we offer a month warranty which is exactly what the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) offersAs Mr *** states he has had these since January
of and used them for almost year without any issuesand after seeing the pictures I do not believe there was an error in the re-chrome procedure, you have to realize that a golf club digs thru grass, dirt, sand and rocks when hitting a golf ball all at between MPH to over MPHI have re-finished tens of thousands of golf clubs in the last years and almost everyone shows wear on the sole were Mr ***'s clubs are showing wearand I also would note the reason the clubs took so long to get to Germany is Mr *** gave the wrong address and I ended up having to pay for some of the shipping for his mistake
Thank you

From: [redacted]<[redacted].[redacted].com>Date: Mon, Dec 19, 2016 at 7:20 AMSubject: [redacted] - Complaint ID: [redacted]To: "[redacted]@cleveland.Revdex.com.org" <[redacted]@cleveland.Revdex.com.org>Hi [redacted], Please find my descriptions of the damage (below) plus photos attached to illustrate my claim I will also forward you the email chain of my initial claim to [redacted] on a following email. If you need any more info/descriptions/clearer images please let me know,   Please find attached photos and descriptions below of the damage to the irons. This is a fault which should not happen to golf irons after 9 months of use, which have been re-chromed.  The irons have varying degrees of exactly the same problem and in exactly the same area on each club which shows there has been a mistake/fault in the re-chrome procedure. I have had a few sets of golf clubs in my 20 year of playing and I have never seen this before on either my own or my friends clubs.  The best way I can illustatrate what is happening is like when rust happens on paintwork of a car. Moisture gets in between the metal and the paint…..bubbles appear in the paint and then the paint cracks and begins to fall away. This is how it looks on the golf irons (I’m not saying its the same chemical process, just the appearance)   I also do not accept that this has happened due to impact….swing speeds e.t.c. The bubbling in the chrome is not on the leading edge of the golf irons, the damage is not happening in the impact area where the clubs hit the soil. Maybe after 10 years of constant playing maybe the chrome could wear thin on the sole of the clubs (a bit like the sole on a shoe) and wear through to the metal underneath. But this is not what is happening here as the damage is around the edge of the plug which is not even at the main impact area as the club tapers up towards the shaft. You can see in all pictures on the sole of the club there are scratch lines….dents from small stones e.t.c which is completely normal. But you do not see chrome bubbling and cracking and falling away in these areas which are in direct contact with the ground upon impact and if [redacted]s explanation was plausable then you would expect to see the damage in these area. You will also see on each club there are no big chunks missing around the plugs that would suggest I had hit any stones, or got angry and wrapped my clubs around a tree after any bad shots, and even if this was the case, you can see small dents on the sole of the club anyway which are due to stone chips (again, perfectly normal) and the chrome is not bubbling or coming away in these areas.  3 iron - this is how the irons should look around the plug…..no chrome bubbling and no chrome cracking and falling off. Usual signs of impact scratches on the sole of the club (normal wear and tear) 4 iron - this iron is showing the fault. bubbling of the chrome around the plug at an early stage with a tiny hole appearing at the top of the bubble. You can also see usual wear on the main impact zone of the sole of the club showing usual wear and tear (scratch lines) and a few small dents, which again are normal and no chrome bubbling or paint cracking is happening here.  5 iron - This iron is showing the fault. Bubbling appearing around the plug. This area should be completely flat as the 3 iron. The sole of the club also shows the usual wear and tear scratch marks and dents on the impact zone of the sole 6 iron - Like the 3 iron this is how the irons should look around the plug…..no chrome bubbling and no chrome cracking and falling off. Usual signs of impact scratches and dents on the sole of the club (normal wear and tear) 7 iron - This iron is showing advanced signs of the fault. A area where the bubbling has happened, cracked and the chrome is coming away and continues to get bigger and bigger. You can also see a second bubble forming and a hole in the top, this will also start to advance as the larger area of the problem. You can also see a dents and scratches on the sole of the club (usual wear and tear) 8 iron - This iron is showing the most advanced stage of the fault. As you can see now the chrome is just continuing to come away and if not fixed will continue to spread over the clubbed rendering it useless as with all the other irons. This club also shows usual wear and tear (scratches and dents) due to usual impact of club sole hitting the ground during a shot 9 iron - Like the 3 iron this is how the irons should look around the plug…..no chrome bubbling and no chrome cracking and falling off. Usual signs of impact scratches and dents on the sole of the club (normal wear and tear) PW iron - This iron is showing the fault. Chrome bubbling around the plug and an area where it has started to crack and come way. The club also shows usual signs of wear and tear due to impact (scratches and dents)  I think these images show that there is a problem with how the clubs have been re-chromed. Showing specific damage in the same specific areas on each club. I have shown that this is not normal wear and tear and this should not happen to golf irons after 9 months of use, especially as they were re-chromed by a company who claims to specialise in re-finishing and re-chroming golf clubs. The irons show different stages of the problem and will continue to get worse. The only way to fix this as confirmed by [redacted] (I have this on an email if required by you) is to re-chrome them. This should not need to be done on golf irons after less than a year of use.  I have also included a picture ([redacted]) of a set of [redacted] irons at my local golf pro-shop (same model as mine) These irons are 8 years old. Still have the original chrome on and show scratches….dents….usual signs of wear for a set of irons for there age. You can also see no chrome bubbling or cracking around the plugs. This is 'normal' for a set of irons. The fault on my irons should not have this after less than a year of use. I asked the man who owns the shop how much it would cost to get my irons re-chromed and he said the price would cost the same as a new set of irons. If this is the case they are not fit for purpose and I would like them to be re-chromed by [redacted] at no further cost to myself This is why I am requesting that the irons are be shipped back to [redacted] (even the irons with no damage because I believe it will start to happen on these also as the other irons are all showing the same fault at varying stages) to be re-chromed, shipped back including the import tax to be all payed by [redacted] and at no further cost to myself,  Finally, [redacted] also mentioned about paying part of the cost for my club to be re-shipped after they where sent back to the US. This was not due to me putting the wrong address on the order. It was because DHL.de lost the clubs when USPS delivered them to DHL.de during a postal strike and I never took ownership of them. I have a mountain of correspondence with USPS and DHL.de to prove this if required. I am in no way saying that [redacted] was in any way to blame for this, but neither was I and I feel I need to say this as it sounds like [redacted] is trying to discredit me or implicating that I am causing trouble. Please share this with [redacted] if needed and I look forward to your response, thank you for your time, [redacted]  Best Regards,[redacted]E-Mail: [redacted].[redacted].com[redacted] SE[redacted]From: [redacted]<[redacted].[redacted].com>Date: Mon, Dec 19, 2016 at 7:28 AMSubject: [redacted] - Complaint ID: [redacted]To: "[redacted]@cleveland.Revdex.com.org" <[redacted]@cleveland.Revdex.com.org>Hi [redacted], Please find below the email chain from my initial complaint/request to [redacted], Again, if you need anything else please ask me and I will be happy to help, Best Regards,[redacted]

I really don't think the plating should be coming away like it is after only under a years use. they have not been mistreated or exposed to extreme temperatures and as they are all showing exactly the same problem on exactly the same area I think there is a problem with how they were refinished. I took them to a club refinisher here in Germany to take a look at for a second opinion and he also thinks it is a strange thing to have happened in such a short time, for me they are not fit for purpose so I need to see where I stand  I just thought i'd let you know what I'm thinking and going to do, just to be honest and transparent  Thanks, [redacted] On Wed, Dec 7, 2016 at 2:24 PM, [redacted] <[redacted].com> wrote:I warranty them for 6 months On Wed, Dec 7, 2016 at 8:10 AM, [redacted] <[redacted]@gmail.com> wrote:Hi [redacted], Can I send them back to you to re-chrome? They shouldn't do this after less than a years use, surely.
