We recently received a complaint regarding an over charge a patron incurred while visiting our establishment.  Our bar tenders and serve staff are responsible for closing hundreds of receipts each night and on occasion mistakes can occur.  Although most of the time this is on accident we...

take this very seriously and investigate computers and video surveillance to ensure that the employees working are not stealing. We apologize for any charges that may have been added and will gladly refund any amount that differs from the signed copy of your receipt.  It's is also worth noting that as patrons drink the quality of their penmanship diminishes and there are times were it is tough to make out the amount written on a receipt.  Also any tabs left open after bar close are subject to an automatic 15% gratuity, this is posted behind the bar and has been our practice for years.I do however take exception to the outrageous claims and sweeping assumptions brought forth in the complaint.  "This business actively deceives its patrons," "In fact, I'm sure they make an additional $100 a night," "this business does other shady things,"  "seems unattainable that they will stop inflating tips."  These are ridiculous claims that as I can tell are only used for pure shock value.  The only fact is that this patron may have been slightly over charged and we would have gladly refunded him immediately had it been brought to our attention.  Assuming that it's for "sure we make and additional $100 a night" is one of the most outrageous claims I've heard in 10 years of running this business.  To call it "fact" and make sweeping generalizations about our business based on empty assumptions is, in my book, slander.  We have been in business for over 10 years and have hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers with no complaints, so to assume that this is a widespread problem that occurs every night is ludicrous.Again we apologize for the over charge and will gladly refund the amount.  We have never not refunded someone with a valid proof of being over charged and will continue to do our best to ensure all customers are taken care of accordingly.Thanks[redacted]Tiki Shack ManagementRevdex.com #[redacted]
