Review: I made an offer to purchase a 1997 Mallard travel trailer for the price of $4200 including tax, tag, and title. The only stipulation I made was that the trailer had to have a current state safety inspection and they had to pack the wheel bearings (which I was told would not be a problem because they do that on everything they sell). They accepted my offer and sent over the paperwork for me to sign but it said "As Is" so I called and spoke to [redacted] and her sales manager, [redacted], and both of them told me it would not be a problem and they would do both items so I wrote that the state safety inspection would be current and the wheel bearings would be packed on the contract documents prior to signing them and returning the documents to them. They didn't say that it was a problem and they set up a time for me to come into the dealership and pick up the unit. When I arrived at the dealership I was given the final documents to sign (which once again didn't state that the state safety inspection would be done or that the wheel bearings would be packed). I was told by the finance guy that once again it was not a problem because they provide current state safety inspections and pack the wheel bearings on all travel trailers they sell (and I saw on the contract that they were charging me $10 for "inspection") so I signed the documents and went out to hook up the trailer. As I was walking around the trailer I noticed the inspection sticker expired in 2011 so I went back inside and spoke to the General Manager, [redacted], and I was told that since I had the original contract documents that said that the wheel bearings would be packed and that the state safety inspection would be performed, that they would get it done and call me in a couple days once it was completed. After waiting a week I contacted them again today. I was told by [redacted], the sales manager, that they were not going to inspect the trailer or pack the wheel bearings because I'm not allowed to hand write on the contracts. They actually had the nerve to white out over where I had written that it would have the inspection and have the bearings packed. I still have the original document with my signature on it and the hand written information and I have email documentation showing that the file emailed to them included the hand written information. I told [redacted] that if they were not going to honor the contract that I expected them to refund the entire purchase price back to me. He told me that was not going to happen. He told me to just go in and pick up the unit because it was going to be really expensive for me if I tried to fight this. I told him that white outing over the information I wrote in made the contract null and void. He told me that I was not allowed to contact him anymore and that I should only contact their legal department (and as I'm not a lawyer I have no idea how to do that and don't want to hire a lawyer). I have a friend who is a lawyer and he suggested that I file a complaint with the Revdex.com and with the state attorney general so I am attempting that.Desired Settlement: I want them to either honor the verbal and written agreements and deliver the trailer with a current state safety inspection and with the wheel bearings packed OR I want them to refund the entire purchase amount so I can go find another trailer.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I purchased the unit with the verbal and written understanding that the unit would have a current Pennsylvania safety inspection sticker and the wheel bearings would be packed. I told the sales person the only items I wanted done to the unit were the current safety inspection sticker and to have the wheel bearings packed. They sent out the packet of paperwork for me to sign and it had a hand written stipulation of "As Is." Beside where it said As Is I wrote in "but, trailer must pass state inspection & have current sticker." I then signed the forms and emailed them back to the dealership to get everything processed. I wasn't told that it was going to be a problem or that anything was wrong at that point. We set up a date to pick up the trailer and I went in and signed the final paperwork. I wasn't worried because on the sales contract I was charged an inspection fee as part of the purchase price (I am attaching a copy of the original paperwork I signed and emailed in and the paperwork I signed at the dealership at the time of the scheduled pick up for your review). I went out and waited in the lobby for the unit to be ready and after about 30 minutes I was told that the unit was mine and I could go get it because I bought it "as is" and they weren't even going to show me how to use the weight distributing hitch. I went out and after about 30 minutes I was able to figure out how to get the hitch hooked up and as I was walking around the unit I noticed the state inspection sticker had expired in 2011. I went back inside and spoke to the GM of the Hamburg location. She called the TN location and spoke to them and told them I had the paperwork showing the unit was to be inspected and the wheel bearings were to be packed. She told me they could not do that work that day but they would call me on Tuesday or Wednesday of the next week and let me know when I could pick it up. The next week I received several phone calls from the sales manager in Tennessee telling me to just pick up the unit because they were not going to inspect it and I would just be wasting my time and money trying to fight it. I don't just give up when I know that I'm right and I have documentation proving it. I sent the notice to the Revdex.com and to the PA state attorney general's office. After a few weeks I decided to try something out so I went into the service department at [redacted] and asked them to inspect the trailer and to put on the current inspection sticker. When they inspected the trailer they found that it had a bad plug for hooking the trailer up to the vehicle and I had to pay a total of $93.97 for the inspection (that I already paid for on my contract) and the replacement parts that it needed to pass the inspection at the same location I had just purchased the unit from). I picked up the unit because I paid $4200 for the unit and I was told by [redacted] I was not getting my money back so my only option was to pick up the unit. I still am not satisfied and want my complaint resolved. If they will credit me back the $93.97 that I had to pay to get the unit road worthy I will withdraw my complaint. If they will not credit the amount back then I feel 100% that my complaint is valid and should stand as a permanent mark on their record with the Revdex.com.

You will also notice they refused to respond to the complaint until I had picked up the unit and then they tried to say that both parties were satisfied. That is a gross misrepresentation of the facts. Just because I chose to pick up my unit so I could use what I paid $4200 for does not mean that I feel that the complaint was resolved. Until I am refunded the $93.97 I will not be satisfied.

Thank you for your time,

Regards,

Trailer not yet available for pick up by customer.

Business has not contacted us during this time period to advise of status of order.

Customer called manager today and requested update, was told manager would return call today...no call received.Desired Settlement: If delivery of trailer is not completed within 14 days customer wants refund of monies.

This was a factory ordered unit. The unit has been completed at the factory and our customer is scheduled for delivery on August 3, 2013. We have no control over the amount of time that the factory takes to build units.

Review: On August 9, 2013, I traded in a 2008 Winnebago Class C RV. Boat N RV Superstore was supposed to issue a payoff in the amount of $68,800 to [redacted]. Today is 31 days past that date, an no pay off has been received. I was first told the payoff was sent on August 30, 2013. Then I was told on September 4, 2013 that the check was cut on the 30th, but no one could get to the post office until September 3rd to mail it. I was told it was mailed 2 day air on the 3rd. Today on September 10, 2013, the payoff has still not been received. I have been asking for the check number and tracking number of check if possible. No one is responding to my request. [redacted] the finance manager is the only one that I'm told can help me, but he says the payoff dept is not responding to him. I am being called everyday by [redacted] for payment on something I don't even have in my possession. The payoff balance that was issued is not any good anymore, so I'm going to owe additional money because they haven't sent it yet. I have my first payment due on my new unit that I purchase but am still responsible for the old loan.Desired Settlement: payoff off old loan

Review: In Jan of 2013 I left a $1000.00 deposit on a vessel at the New York natl. boat show (where this company was a vendor) . The terms of the contract were as follows, The contract was non binding as they were arranging credit for me, and the vessel was to be delivered to [redacted] marine in [redacted], Ny. Both of those terms were NOT met by the seller. I was contacted by the seller in April and they told me they cannot deliver the boat to NY as they no longer do business with [redacted] marine and I have to come to Pa to pick up my boat . (I didn't agree to this!) also when they tried to obtain credit for me they couldn't get me approved! I told them to issue me a refund for the $1000.00 deposit I was bounced around from "manager to manager" . and still have not received as much as a phone call let alone a refund! I have left over 5 messages for the managers and the owner with no response!!!!Desired Settlement: I would like my $1000.00 deposit returned

Dear **. [redacted]:

Our above referenced customer ordered a boat at an off-site show in New York City. All of the terms, including financing, were agreed upon at the show. All conditions were satisfied, including credit approval shortly after the date of the parties' written agreement. Following the show, our customer requested a delay in the delivery of the boat which Boat-N-RV had already ordered and purchased from the manufacturer. As a matter of customer service, we agreed to delay the delivery. Thereafter, our customer engaged in action which damaged his credit whereupon he refused to complete the purchase.

Our written purchase agreement with this customer provides that in the event the customer refuses delivery or otherwise breaches the purchase agreement, any deposit provided w'ill be held to offset the dealer's damages. This is exactly the situation in this case, I am happy to provide you with any additional information concerning this claim which you may require.

With kind regards I remain,

Very truly yours,

I am rejecting this response because:

This is all lies!!!

There was no credit application filled out at the boat show ! IAlso they broke there written contract by telling me they wouldn't deliver the boat to [redacted] N,y as they no longer do business with the marina in [redacted]! and told me I have to come to PA to pick up the boat.

I didn't agree to this breech of contract . I bought a house I didn't destroy my credit all 3 scores are over 700 . This company is trying to steal my $1000.00 deposit on a boat that they surely sold to someone else!!! they broke a contract and now I'm going to get my lawyer involved! because stating that I "destroyed my credit " on a public web site is a violation of the federal privacy act.

[redacted] I will see you in court! and I'm coming for a lot more than $1000.00 !!!

Review: My husband and I purchased an RV at Boat N RV in [redacted], PA. I initially offered $28K and we settled on $30K because the salesman, John S[redacted], promised that this RV would be checked from bumper to bumper, the windshield would be replaced because it had a crack in it, it would be inspected and that it would be detailed. Well, this RV was not checked from bumper to bumper and it was not detailed. When we brought the RV home, we noticed that we had a hard time starting it everyday. So, we put it in the repair shop and was told of the following issues that were wrong with it mechanically. It badly needed a tune up as the spark plugs were caked on all of them and the wires had to be replaced which had to be ordered from GM, The air filter (falling apart), fuel filter, oil filters were all replaced, oil change, Serpentine belt (was worn out), lubed chassis, serviced generator and installed two internal batteries (they were very weak). The bill came out to $1,511.21. Apparently, the disconnect from the spark plugs and wires and the weak internal batteries contributed to the reason why the RV wouldn't start. We also shampooed the carpeting with our rug shampooer and the water was "black". So, it looks like they didn't detail the RV either. We were sold this $30,000 RV in this condition. We were promised that this RV would be checked from "bumper to bumper" and that they would detail it for us before we picked it up and they didn't keep their word because they apparently didn't check or do anything. Also, the salesman, John S[redacted], sold us a tow dolly for $880. After we picked up the RV and were on our way home, we noticed that the tow dolly made the RV go all over the road. The alignment was terrible. Without the tow dolly, the RV drives fine. So, we expressed this to John and mentioned that we would like to return it and get our money back. His response was that he couldn't do that. If he would have told us that this could happen, we never would have purchased the tow dolly.Desired Settlement: I feel that since we agreed on the price of $30,000, instead of $28,000, with the promise that they would check the RV from "bumper to bumper" and detail it, I should get a refund of $2,000. I had to put it in the shop myself at a cost of $1,500 and we had to detail it ourselves. For the dolly, it's in my garage being unused because we can't use it. I would like to return it and get a refund of $880.

Response:

Dear [redacted]:

The vehicle was at least 13 years old at the time of sale in June 2014. Boat-N-RV did state inspect this vehicle and also performed other routine inspections of the vehicle prior to sale. The vehicle operated satisfactorily at the time of sale and our customers accepted delivery of the vehicle. Following the maintenance work performed by our customers, the vehicle seems to be driving better.

Also, back in August 2014, Boat-N-RV Superstore reached out to our customer and offered to accept the return of the tow dolly for the full $880.00 paid. Please let me know if you require any additional information to close this complaint.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:The fact that this RV is 13 years old has no relevance concerning this complaint. We accepted this RV upon purchase because we trusted Boat 'N RV and the salesman that this RV would be checked bumper to bumper and that they would make sure that this RV was in good mechanical condition. However, we noticed that the RV wasn't in good mechanical condition after we got it home. If this RV was in such "good condition", why did we have to put it in the shop to get repairs made on it so that we could utilize it on a planned trip? I guess you would have been happier if we got stuck somewhere out on the road!!! As far as the tow dolly goes, after you told me that you wouldn't reimburse me for the tow dolly, I advertised it to sell it and luckily sold it before you offered to give me a refund. It took this Revdex.com complaint for you to make that offer. If you don't want to reimburse us for those repairs, that's fine. However, I will never do business with you ever again and will tell all of my family and friends to never do business with you either. What you did was very dishonest and it's companies like you that place "mistrust" in consumers.

Review: Purchased my new Trailer from this dealer in Jan 2012 . Since that time have had to return it 5 time for service. I have been charged for items that should have been under warrenty Including parts that were defective from purchase. Routinely takes excessive time to complete any repair. HAve been tol that it was fixed when I returned to pick it up found that items they said were fixed were not. Dealer has ordered wrong parts that is if you can even get the parts with out waiting over 5 months and being told they had no record of it. Made appt to drop the unit off and was told that gates closed at 5pm even after verifying the hours since it was easter got there only to find the place locked up and could not get into the lot. Good luck getting the Service department to respond to you? I have ha to do more work to get warrenty issues correct that the dealer should be taking care of.Desired Settlement: Returned call from the General Manager of the store to discuess the service that they offer or don't

Business

Response:

There is no question that the employee made an error when scheduling this customer to drop his unit off on Easter Sunday. The customer was called by the service department and the employee apologized to the customer for the mistake and the inconvenience. It is unfortunate that his unit has had numerous warranty issues. Boat N RV strives to service all our customer's to the best of our ability. We do not build the units and can not possibly foresee what issues may arise on any unit. The purpose of having a customer walk their unit at the service appointment pick up is to make sure the customer is satisfied with the work performed and to make sure what was corrected was the customer's issue. Boat N RV does not intentionally order wrong parts; however sometimes the wrong part is communicated or the manufacturer sends the incorrect part. As for the customer's statement of paying for warranty parts that should have been covered, Boat N RV does not hold the warranty on any new vehicle and it is the manufacturer of the recreational vehicle to make the determination on what is covered by their warranty. The customer paid a total of $50.45 over the five service visits. The repairs were not covered by warranty because, according to the documentation, the two parts were damaged due to weather. Boat N RV values all customers and in an attempt to satisfy this customer, we will be covering the expense of his current service appointment. The three items that he is currently in for are a battery not holding charge, a piece of wood splitting on his bed and a piece of wood trim that fell off. This customer's manufacture warranty expired on 1/16/13 and he did not purchase an extended warranty.

Review: Took delivery of a 2012 [redacted] Chaparral Lite [redacted] Fifth wheel RV 11/5/2011. Even before we took delivery we found the RV was not built as we had ordered it. After agreeing to take it with the promise of changes being made, we got the correct pieces only to find out one of the new chairs were broken. Drove another 150 miles to pick up new chair. Took RV back two more times for other repairs. One repair was for defective stove which nearly burned my wife's face. Also the propane tanks that should have been full upon delivery were not. Had to have both tanks refilled after a weekend of use. When I went to have them filled the [redacted] informed me that the tanks were never purged of air, as required. The most recent was a water valve for the winterization line broke off when I went to flush the lines. I had been able to replace it the day before our trip. When we went away on Memorial Day 2014 we needed to use the battery but it was dead. We found that the battery was no good due to a puncture on bottom from one of four large screw heads from the mounting of the battery box installed by the dealer. We had noticed the battery was dead last time we picked it up from repair on 1/19/2013, we just figured it someone left a light on while being worked on. The RV was always plugged in to 120V so we never needed to use the battery. That is how we learned of the puncture. Spoke to the service advisor Mario S[redacted] who does not seem to be all that knowledgeable about RVs. He said too much time has passed and there is nothing they can do for me. Even though it was their improper installation of the battery. At the time of delivery I purchased a $1900.00 extended warranty that I thought would cover, it does not. When trying to contact the dealer all you get is someone's voice mail. Then you end up playing phone tag. The lack of competent service and poor quality product leaves me where I am at now.Desired Settlement: I would like to be compensated for the expense of refilling of the propane tanks and full replacement for the deep cycle RV battery.

Response:

[redacted] called in to our warranty/service department to

inquire about warranty on his RV battery. [redacted] was informed that

batteries carry a one (1) year warranty from the date stamped on the

battery. It was at that time that [redacted] stated that his

battery was installed incorrectly in 2011 and that BNRV was responsible for

this. [redacted] owns a fifth wheel travel trailer. Batteries on

fifth wheels are installed at the factory by the manufacturer and carry a one

(1) year manufacturer warranty. There is no coverage, at this point, for

[redacted]’s battery, and [redacted] will not assume responsibility for replacement

of his battery two and a half (2 1/2) years later.

As for the LP that [redacted] is also alleging was never

filled, 2 ½ years ago, [redacted] will not reimburse the customer monetarily, but

will, in good faith, give the customer a one-time propane refueling of two LP

bottles. [redacted] can bring his LP bottles in to the service office

before December 31, 2014 and the two bottles will be filled at no charge to the

customer.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: The propane bottles are full at this time. There is no way that they will be empty buy the date they have offered. but I would consider a store credit for accessories/parts equal to the filling of two propane bottles. As far as the battery, If in fact the battery was installed buy the factory and had a one year warranty from date stamped on battery *see attachment It was already out of warranty when it was installed! So my complaint regarding the battery will have to be taken up with the manufacture.

Jul 14, 2014I had filed a complaint that I thought was resolved on June 3rd 2014 but the business failed to hold up their end of the bargain! I had accepted a offer that was not enough to cover the lost expense but to be done with dealing with them. They offered to send a gift card equal to what they called a compensation, but it has been one month since then I would like to know what can I do at this point? Review: Purchased a used travel trailer on 2/16/2013 from boatnrv. When first looking at trailer nothing was mentioned at all by sales man about the roof being bad or having any issues at all.We negotiated a price and purchased the unit based on the info. given to us by their salesman/manager.On the day of pickup we were doing title work and I recognized and knew previous owner.About 2 hrs. after pickup I called him and the first words he said after hearing I bought it were "Did they tell you about the roof".He went on to tell me how part of the roof was rotted and sinking and this was a major concern. He told me he was very open and honest with them about this issue, in fact he sold it very cheaply to them because of this problem.I called them back the same day and spoke to [redacted] asking him if any wood on the roof was replaced.....he said he would get back to me.He called back later to tell how much was spent on trailer but did not know how much of that was roof work.I was then contacted by [redacted] who informed me that the roof was only sealed and no wood was replaced.I asked him if he would share expenses to make this right since we were not made aware of this problem up front and his reply was "As is ...we will not share any expense".Desired Settlement: I would like help with expenses to fix roof properly at another dealershipm
