Due to a bad grout job on initial installation of tile by Lowe’s contractors, I was seeking out a professional to advise what could be done to correct the extremely rough grout, which was installed too many years ago to pursue from the original contractorJan 8th Vendor from Pora of Sun City West, to wit:(Tile and Grout improvement)

Jan 8th Vendor from Pora of Sun City West, to wit:(Tile and Grout improvement)
Do to what I consider reprehensible behavior on the part of the contractor, I made a complaint to Pora.
Pora in a brief telephone conversation with the contractor failed to bring out the most important points which I have noted below.
Vendor did small portion of grout with sandpaper to show what it would look like upon completion and quoted a price. (oral) I agreed that if it looked like the demo, I would be satisfied.
Jan 14th Work begin 8 AM with two men.
After about one half hour, I examined the work completed and expressed my dissatisfaction with the result saying it was not as good as the demo. I was told to remember that this was a three step process and I would be satisfied with the end result.
One more time about a hour later, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the work so far. I was reminded again that it was a three step process.
They continued their work. After about an hour, I once again expressed my dissatisfaction and was told that that was the best they could without putting the tile at risk for damage.
The person in charge (owner of the business) stated if I wished to sign a wavier relieving them of any tile damage responsibility, they would attempt to make it better. I declined saying I could not give them license to ruin my tile.
I then noted the numerous holes in the grout and said the grout could not be sealed in this condition and the grout would have to be repaired before sealing. (filled in in spots.)
He said that they could not come back and do this later for the agreed upon price, because the price quoted didn’t allow for that.
He took off the price of the sealing without any allowance for labor.
(cost of materials only)
I expressed my dissatisfaction without a labor refund, and he stated that sealing was only a ten minute job.
We negotiated a price with him knocking off an additional $40 from the total. I paid him $400 and he left.
I would like to note that step two of that three step process was never begun unless you would consider vacuuming and mopping were the steps alluded to.
I ended up hiring two laborers whom I supervised and removed all the grout and put in new with excellent results with no damage to tile. The work done by tile and grout improvement was of no benefit. They should of informed me during the process that I could not expect a satisfactory job as the demo.
