In response to [redacted]) to the Revdex.com about the grout "erosion"... I must say I am deeply disappointed and upset that he would report such a delinquent matter. First, any grout repair...
(especially in a shower) is a common maintenance issue which is never covered under a "lifetime" warranty. Grout maintenance is only covered for one year. I guarantee my craftsmanship to be exceptional and outlasting, both structurally and ascetically. There is no actual written "lifetime warranty." Secondly, [redacted] states he wants the eroding grout fixed in order to "prohibit any further damage." His conclusion is erroneous because the entire substrate is fully waterproofed, and missing grout has no adverse effect on a fully waterproof substrate. The truth is, water always transfers through the grout… That's why the wallboard (substrate) has to be waterproofed. Furthermore, grout is porous, so whenever the shower is being used, water will transfer through the grout (eroded or not) and onto the waterproof substrate, then evaporate. There is no "further damage" problem. It is just a very minor cosmetic issue which I have agreed to fix. I am still willing to fix the grout ASAP. Please forgive the communication problems. I have been EXTREMELY busy with both work and family (wife, 2 kids, and another on the way). [redacted] is a great guy, and I'm sure this will all be behind us soon.
