This is the patient whose mom filed the complaint w/ the
Revdex.com. Her ledger says "0" balance; I also left [redacted] a VM on 8/15 telling
her that if her statement showed a balance that it was simply because the
statements were printed prior to the adjustment and...

that I would send her a new
one in the mail showing the adjustment. One is attached for your
review.

Timeline notes on this mother:

In reference to her complaint about being owed a refund on
her [redacted], that is not due her. She used [redacted] to pay her bill, as
shown in the ledger; she accused "[redacted]" , who no longer works in the practice,
of over charging her.


On August 12, 2014, [redacted] called to discuss her
daughter's account; [redacted] took the call, put the lady on hold; [redacted] said that
the caller did not ask to speak to an office manager, she simply wanted to speak
to someone about a bill; [redacted] took the call and not once did he identify
himself as the "office manager". Per [redacted], the lady ranted the entire time
about "Tillery Dental not knowing what they were doing; the office was guilty
of insurance fraud for charging more than the allowed fee and attempting to
collect the difference from her daughter; the office refused to file a claim on
services for her daughter;" [redacted] politely listened and attempted to explain
what he saw in her daughter's ledge. She continued to yell on the phone so
[redacted] ended the call; Ms. [redacted] placed another call to the office requesting
to speak to the office manager. [redacted] took the call and told her that the OM
was chairside and she would be happy to have her return the call. Ms. [redacted]
refused to hang up and said "I will wait; I have nothing better to do all day".
[redacted] put Ms. [redacted] on hold and told the OM that she was on hold; the OM
could not speak to her at that point and said that she would have to return Ms.
[redacted]' phone call.


On Thursday, August 14, 2014, I took a phone call from Ms.
[redacted]. She asked "who I was and what I did in the office." I told her that
I was the Lead BA and that I would try my best to answer her questions. She was
extremely disrespectful in speaking to me. She said that " no one at Tillery
knew what they were doing; the office had a reputation of doctors leaving and
employees stealing money; the office was also guilty of insurance fraud and that
she was reporting us to the Revdex.com and the state insurance office;" I told her
that I was going to conduct a mini audit of her daughter's account after I asked
if we had a HIPPA signed giving permission to speak to her about her daughter's
account. Ms. [redacted] "threatened" to come to the practice and wait until
something was done about the account; I told her that I would be more than
happy for her to come to the practice so that I could show her the ledger and
all charges and payments. Her response, " I was diagnosed with Type A flu today
and I am very contagious. I would love to come up there and expose everyone of
you to what I have. I can be there in a few minutes. I again told her my plan
to audit that account and that I would return a phone call to her upon
completion. I did audit the account and sent you the e-mail requesting
permission to take the insurance adjustment. The adjustment was due to PPO
allowable being less than the ledger amounts. Ms. [redacted]' daughter was not
charged for any services that were not performed; I called Ms. [redacted] back to
give her the result of the mini audit and explained that there was no balance
due on the account; she barely acknowledged that fact and continued to complain
about the [redacted] issue. She is extremely beligerent and will not allow a
staff member to engage in a conversation with her.

Ms. [redacted] has never called the office to speak to anyone
in an amicable manner; she is always disrespectful and insulting; her daughter
came into the practice and was also disrespectful, used obscenities when
addressing the front staff. She called on May 27th and I took the call. I
ended the call because she began cursing me and personally attacking my
abilities. She told me that I was an "imbecil and that it was not her fault
that I nor anyone els in that damn office knew how to do my job". A current
ledger is attached.
