The sewer company did not explain the chargesThe water company called the sewer company to inform them that the water was cut off per their request Unlike the sewer company , the water company which does actually have to switch off something , is not and did not take the opportunity to charge me for shutting off the waterThe sewer company per their own words does not have any way to shut of service since thete is no valve they can turnInteresting comparison between the twoAgain , they hide behind the Missouri Public Service Commission which does not do anything about these private sewer companies except rubber stamp whatever they come up withAnd as a reminder, I spoke with the company while I was on emergency leave from Korea, I am back in Korea, so any explanations they need to give they need to contact me in Korea as was explained to them at the timeInstead they sent my house a bill for $and the Missouri Public Service Commission emailed me that this company also expects another $when reconnecting their service

As outlined in our tariff provided by the Missouri Public Service Commission, Rule 7H, the termination of service at the customer’s request may be accomplished at the expense of the customer, as provided in Rule 9B.Rule 9B states the method used for termination of service shall be determined by the
company The cost to the company for disconnection/reconnection of sewer service is $150, as explained to the customer provided there is no water service to the home.It was also explained to the customer that proof of water shutoff had to be obtained, otherwise complete disconnection of service required a cap of their underground sewer line going to the property, which is not cost prohibitive to the customer. If water shutoff did not occur, and payment of monthly sewer bills was not received, then the process for collection would be to place a lien on the property receiving service for nonpayment of service.The $was charged upon termination by this customer. All other monthly sewer bills are credited back after billing has occurred.If customer would contact our office to receive explanation of their most recent billing this would have been explained to them.The service that is provided by Timber Creek Sewer Company is to treat wastewater discharged from the property in order to meet all environmental regulations mandated by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources This property is not located in the city limits of Platte City, therefore there are no services provided by them.With regard to the disputed amount of $300, there is no $charge, only the standard $disconnection fee as explained above.
