Was hired to remove some shrubs, including roots. In the process, his tractor took out a main support beam and railings on the porch and he left roots[redacted] was hired to remove shrubs and roots, and trim a rhodie bush. While using a tractor to remove a shrub, he hit a main support beam for the front porch and it fell down, taking the side railings with it. He left all of the roots to the shrubs, left piles of dirt and tractor marks everywhere he worked. He denies responsibility for the damage and put a 2x6 board only, to support the porch. The rhodie was chopped, not trimmed. He left a mess!!!!!!!Desired SettlementSince he cashed the check within 12 hours, he should refund the price paid and pay for the completion of the job as well as the damages he causedBusiness Response I was hired by [redacted] to remove shrubs, remove root balls and prune rhododendron bushes. My first estimate and meeting with [redacted] we discussed the price of the job would be $750.00 she stated she was not willing to pay that much I reduced the price to $600.00. I pride myself and company on working with customers and having fair reasonable pricing. I completed the job exactly as stated in the estimate. During the job I did bump the property owner's deck, I knocked down the side railing. I informed the owner/customer. It was clear that the decks support beam was badly rotted prior to my damage which she was aware of. She asked me to support the piece I damaged. I immediately went and purchase a 4 by 6 piece of wood , the correct material at the lumber yard. I then put the new beam in to support the deck and fixed my damage. [redacted] then paid me for completing the job. l then contacted her two day later to offer to have a rough framer come look at the damage and make sure the repair I made was correct, which I would pay for. The customer stated that it was not necessary. A week later received a phone call from a [redacted] who very inappropriately started threatening my business stating he was going to spread bad Prumors about my company if 1 did not completely refund the $600.00 to [redacted]. I tried to discuss the job and what occurred with [redacted] however he was unwilling to listen.Thank you for taking the time to help resolve this matter. [redacted]Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)No satisfaction was ever expressed about this job. Mr. [redacted] was so insistent that he was not responsible for damage he caused to the home and poor quality of work that we got to the point that it was best for him to not return to the property after his late coming offer to have someone finally repair the damage. By that time, someone else had to be hired. We will accept a monetary offer to cover the cost to repair the damage he caused.Final Business Response Timber Heights Tree Inc. pride ourselves on satisfying our customers. We complete over five hundred tree service jobs each year and get positive feedback from 98% of our customers. We are a small locally owned company which allows us to work with the customer on a very personal level. When a customer is not satisfied we try to resolve whatever complaint they may have. We care about our reputation as we receive a majority of our customers finding us on a referral basis. We understand [redacted] is not satisfied with the tree services. Timber Heights has made attempts in resolving the issues he had . Unfortunately [redacted] and his family (job completed for his mother) were not willing to work with Timber Heights to resolve the mater at that particular time. Unfortunately we can not give refunds to every customer which is at first satisfied with the completed job, then changes their mind. Thank you [redacted] Timber Heights Inc
