Timber Trail Apartments

I have been in these apartments since November 2011 and ever since Cap City Apartments took over the property it has been complete hell. First of all they took over in June 2014 and on July 20, 2015 they put a letter on my door saying that if I didn't get into a lease my month to month would be $755. I had been paying $558 a month and I was given 2 other options besides paying that ridiculous amount which were: Sign 1 year and pay $655 or 2 year for $625 and I had until August 1, 2015 to decide. Of course I decided the 2 year because I had just started nursing school and wasn't going to be able to work 2 jobs anymore. The owner doesn't care, the property manager doesn't care and most certainly the maintenance team doesn't care. They have only been here 1 year and few months and I have called the city twice on them for things not being fixed. They came into my apartment and ripped up my carpet and left the baseboards unpainted, the kitchen floor is sitting on top of the vinyl that they put down in the kitchen and my downstairs closet still has carpet but they didn't put a strip down to separate that either. The vinyl that they put into the living room has spaces in the boards to where the cement under is showing. A storm came through and made my ceiling in my bedroom closet fall down, they replaced the ceiling with aa wood board and bugs and dirt get through onto my clothes. The air filters haven't been replaced in 5 years. I asked them to fix my air conditioner and it broke down again, it took them 48 hours to come and fix this broken down AC unit and I asked for them to replace it, they refused. My electric bill because of this old AC unit is anywhere from 160-170 a month, me and my children are hardly ever here being that at that time I was in nursing school full time and working full time. Now I have 2 jobs and the bill is still high, and its always hot in my apartment. I have called numerous times about them fixing the floors, the vents, the AC, the ceilings and the property manager always acts as if she forgets or she "thought" they were resolved. The landscape and trash outside is so unbearable, I do not let my children play outside because of how dirty the property is. The tenants are trashy and do whatever they want because, unlike when I first moved in these apartments, there are no consequences for disturbances. There all types a gnats in my unit I even put plastic up to prevent them from coming into the windows, which has spaces between the inner and outer parts, but that didn't resolve a thing. I had a raccoon in my ceiling for almost the whole year and they did nothing about it all winter, then it started coming further into the house messing with my vents, then they finally called a company out to set a trap. They are charging new customers anywhere from $755-905 to live in these apartments trying to get more money because they are greedy, and they are slum lords. They do not care about their tenants because they do not have to live in the run down apartments. I am writing this review just so that I can help others out especially the young people. I am supposed to be here until July 2017, but I refuse to stay here. I have been keeping record and documenting everything because I plan on taking them to court after I break my lease so that I won't have to pay the remaining balance. I hold up my end of the lease, have for 5 years. Never missed a rent payment, never caused trouble, maybe was late once on rent but me and my children deserve better.
