Timberlake Lodge Hotel Reviews (3)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.The problem is not with my employer, it is with the hotelWe NEVER smoked in our roomI am not a smoker, my co worker isHe smoked outside just as he should, he's very environmentally conscious so he doesn't like litteringHe puts the cherry out on the cigarette and he then brought his cigarette butts inside to throw in the trashSo I don't think it's fair to be charged 200$ which is more than the room even costed for the nightOn top of that our hot water didn't work, and the only roll of toilet paper in there was already usedSo on top of paying 140$ for hours in a hotel we couldn't even shower in, we now end up paying moreNot fair

*** is an
employee of Mr*** ***, who was the renter and payer of room #*** for
the stay on December 9th, for one night with occupants in the
roomMr***’s two employees were in town to install Christmas lighting
on the city light poles
After
a.mon December
10th, Shawn *** was called by Housekeeping to
come to room #***Immediately upon entering, he noticed the smell of cigarette
smoke in the roomHe walked around the entire room, which is a 2-section
suiteThe odor was prevalent throughout the entire roomThere was also a
shattered coffee mug in the bathroom, with a note apologizing for the breakage,
with a single dollar bill attached
After
inspecting the room, Shawn immediately returned to his desk and called Mr*** ***, the registered renter of the room, at the phone number listed on his
reservationHe answered almost immediatelyShawn explained that due to the
odor of cigarette smoke in the room, the hotel would need to charge him the
$cleaning/smoking fee listed on his registration card (copy attached)
Mr*** did not dispute the charge in any way, and stated that he would
split the charge and put half onto each of his employee’s paychecks ($
each)He further stated that he loved our hotel and would be back to stay
again
On Monday
the 12th of December at approximately pm, Shawn returned a call
from a “***” who had left him a voicemail and wanted to discuss charges on
his room billAfter making contact with ***, he proceeded to explain to Shawn
that his employer had deducted $for the cleaning/smoking charge on the
roomHe proceeded to explain that while no one smoked in the room, his
co-worker did not want to litter his cigarette butts on the ground, and
preferred to carry them in his pocketShawn explained that the odor in the
room was so noticeable and pervasive that the hotel could not sell the room to
anyone expecting a non-smoking room (in our hotel advertising it states we are
a completely smoke-free facility)We further had a protracted discussion
regarding “excessive clean up” as it states in the registration agreement, and
what that term constitutes
In the end, Shawn
explained to *** that his dispute was with his employer, not with the hotel
The person paying for the room did not dispute and in fact agreed with the
chargeWhat his employer chooses to do is beyond our control*** said that
if the hotel did not refund the charge, he would send a letter to the RevDex.comAt no time in any part of the lengthy discussion with ***
did he mention any trouble with any part of his stay other than the post-stay
chargeIndeed, he stated that he had stayed with us previously and has always
enjoyed our hotel, and has never had any issue except for this charge
Kris ***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.The problem is not with my employer, it is with the hotel. We NEVER smoked in our room. I am not a smoker, my co worker is. He smoked outside just as he should, he's very environmentally conscious so he doesn't like littering. He puts the cherry out on the cigarette and he then brought his cigarette butts inside to throw in the trash. So I don't think it's fair to be charged 200$ which is more than the room even costed for the night. On top of that our hot water didn't work, and the only roll of toilet paper in there was already used. So on top of paying 140$ for 8 hours in a hotel we couldn't even shower in, we now end up paying more. Not fair.
