Review: when installing granite countertops, workmen put 2 inch tape around the top of cabinets on the island under the granite. Our kitchen cabinets were all restained prior to the installation of the granite. When the tape was removed from the cabinets on the island, the stain finish was removed along with the tape over a 2 inch width.

This was shown to the workmen and and the owner and they admitted using the wrong tape. They specifically told me that a check would be "cut" to repair the damages. No other options were offered at that time. I had the person who stained the cabinets to repair the damage. The restaining did not result in a uniform appearance making it necessary to strip the entire surface of the cabinets twice to try to obtain uniform stain. The results were not good and looks awful and the cost of $400 was borne by us. We discussed this over the telephone and in person with the owner who admitted that he caused the damage with the wrong tape but refused to reimburse usDesired Settlement: I would expect to be reimbursed for charges incurred in attempting to repair their damage and also have the cabinets restored to their original conditions..
