I was recently hired by Ms, [redacted] to renovate her bathroomAs soon as the work began I realized the demolition would take longer to complete and add additional time to the length of the overall projectI immediately communicated this via email and Ms [redacted] said she had anticipated this due to the age, and condition of the buildingI proceeded with the project and installed all of the items listed in the contract, correctly, new drains, new water lines, tub, tiles, sink and vanity, toilet, new walls and ceiling, and medicine cabinetI informed Ms [redacted] that there was on section of wall behind the radiator that I could not remove because the heat was running and I could not shut it off or disconnect the radiatorI informed her that I would covet the section with luan and paint it to match the other wallsi never received a response either way regarding the said section, so I continued. All of the items I installed were left in good working order and usableThe unit is very small, the entire apartment is less than total square feet; the dust became impossible for me to contain and I offered to pay for a cleaning crew to come in and clean the apartment, Ms [redacted] decline the offer and later called and threatened to sue me for the cost of cleaning the unitOn the day I thought I would be finished there were still many touch items to be done and I told Ms [redacted] to get settled back I her apartment and I would return and fix or replace anything she deemed unexceptable, all of which is cosmetic, she said she just wanted to get back in and paid me the balance on the projectThere was a problem with wall switch and the ceiling fixture would not shut off, I told her I would return in two days to install a pull switch fixture, temporarily , until we could fix the wall switch, she said that was fineThe following morning Ms [redacted] called me on the phone, screaming and yelling at me, and threatening to sue meI immediately called and attorney to seek advice, I was told that when the customer pays the final balance on a contract they are accepting the work as satisfactory and compete.Even after obtaining the legal information, I made several overture to Ms [redacted] to come back and redo anything she wanted redoneShe refused all of my offers and her approach became confrontational, filled with threats and insults.Ms [redacted] accused my helpers of entering her closets and moving items, this never happened. One evening Ms [redacted] called me and screamed "get over here right now, if your not here in minutes I'm calling the police" , when I told my associate about this he said he did not want to accompany me to return her light fixture, and I did not want to enter her property alone for fear of being involved in some type of police matter. My associate took the light fixture thinking we were returning to install it, the toilet "parts" Ms [redacted] refers to in her complaint are the plastic caps that cover the toiler bolts, which were in my tool beltno working parts were takenI went and retrieved the light fixture from my associate today and I will be sending them back via UPS tomorrow. As for the plumbing fixture that Ms [redacted] claims I took; the lod fixtures were 20-years old, I asked Ms [redacted] at the start of the planning phase is she wanted them and she said no, I had no use for them and I disposed of them at the dump with the rest of the debris.I did not threaten Ms [redacted] with legal action, she in fact is the one who said " you will be hearing from my lawyer".I also did not tell Ms [redacted] to break off communication, she sent an email telling me not to contact her.I made every attempt at be hospitable towards Ms [redacted] and I have been met with anger, threats, hostility, and insults.I do not feel that I owe Ms [redacted] any refunds or other payments as I provided her with a new, fully functional, bathroom. As I stated in my last email to Ms [redacted] , I hope that cooler heads can prevail in this matter and my offer to come back and fix the problems is still on the table
