Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/07/24) */
When I was retained in this case, Ms. [redacted] agreed to pay me a $2,000.00 retainer fee. Because she only had $1,000 to put down, we agreed to a payment schedule which she did not keep. However, she contacted me right before a court appearance...

and told me that she could make a credit card payment. When we ran the credit card it was declined. I had a conversation with her, and I thought we worked that problem out. Although she made a payment, I heard nothing further from her until right before court. Once again, she promised a payment by credit card, and once again it was declined. I went to court with her and was able to work out a settlement that was very satisfactory to Ms. [redacted]. I did agree to draft the final order, but when I learned that her payment had been declined, I told her that I would need the rest of my retainer. She wanted to work out another payment arrangement and I refused. I told her that I had lost faith in her as a client because she had not kept her payment promises several times. I told her that if she wanted to make payment arrangements, she should borrow money from a friend or family member and make payments to them. The next thing I knew, I received a phone call from her father. He started to tell me that "I was going to complete the work" and that "I was not going to be receiving any more money." I felt threatened and I told him I was ending the call. He became irate and abusive and started to call me a string of vulgar names as I hung up. I sent Ms. [redacted] a text and informed her that her dad had become abusive with me and that I would be withdrawing from her case. This had occurred on a Friday, and I told her that I would sent my withdrawal to the court on Monday. She left a message for me on Monday. When I responded, I did not reach her and left a voice mail. When I did not hear anything, I filed my withdrawal the next day. In short, Ms. [redacted] received quality representation and she either could not pay for it, or did not want to pay for it. She still owes me for the services I rendered, and is apparently angry that I was no longer willing to keep working for her without getting the compensation she had agreed to pay me, even though she was happy with the result.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/07/27) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
He was not professional as he says he was. He yelled and said way more things unessacary than he disclosed. I did not call him and leave him a message the following monday. Although, I did get his voicemail saying I called him and he was just calling back. I than did not call him back because I never called him in the first place. I had no problem paying him until he said I need to pay $855 in full within a few days. I never had a problem making payments, but he said he will not accept payments and I cannot pay it in full.
