Tin Sparrow Events Reviews (1)

Hello I am GariAnn [redacted] the owner of Tin Sparrow Events; I am the sole event planning and coordinator with my company and I was not personally hired to work on this event as myself and my company were already booked on another wedding event. This was explained to Mr. [redacted] multiple times via...

multiple phone conversations all prior to their decision to independent booking with Elaina, my personal assistant. I can make the dates of these phone calls, in regards to my inability to assist with this event, available as needed or requested.
I offered names & contact information regarding other planners in our area as alternative options each of which Mr. [redacted] informed me were not available or that they did not want to work with. It was only after further persistent contact from Mr. [redacted] that Elaina, my personal assistant, chose to step in and offered to independently take on the planning and execution of the event. It was explained more than once that Elaina had not performed the task of Planning or Event Coordinator on her own and Mr. [redacted] as well as his then Fiancé understood this completely & were fine with being her first planning/execution event and requested to move forward with her as their Coordinator.
I did receive an email from [redacted] regarding his complaints on September 23rd - 6 days following the conclusion of their event. Upon deeper review of his email the majority of the item that he had listed in his original complaint email were caused by the horrible weather conditions (25-35 mph winds & rain) that occurred as well as related to power issues at the private residence they selected to host their wedding at and not directly related to the independent consultant Elaina that they hired. Unfortunately weather is something that I personally as well as neither Elaina nor anyone is able to control. Bad weather is not valid as grounds to warrant a refund and would not be something that would be issues or offered by any professional wedding vendors. In this version of his issues he has listed with the Revdex.com his complaints are different and a more tailored account to reflect a failure on the company’s part removing all the other elements including the weather and lighting/power related complaints that he had originally addressed in his email to me that Elaina had zero control over.
To further clarify I would like to make my email response to Mr. [redacted]’s allegations, my full email response I sent to him on September 23rd, publicly available for review as well as Elaina’s responsive email available as well. I would also like to further state that since filing this claim with the Revdex.com Mr. [redacted] has slandered my business via inaccurate reviews on the internet before even allowing any time to address the issues, collect facts or attempt to arrange a meeting between himself & their independently contracted Coordinator Elaina to properly address their complaints or to work towards a resolution between themselves!!
Mr. [redacted] specifies in his claim here with the Revdex.com a few points that I, GariAnn [redacted] would like to personally address in detail:
1)      Unprofessional Performance: This is incorrect! I pride myself on my professionalism and I would be more than happy to provide statements from past clients as well as statements from professional wedding vendors I work closely with if requested to. As I stated above as well as in my email response to Mr. [redacted] I was not hired to participate in their event, nor was I present at their planning meetings with Elaina and further I was in no way ever contacted during the planning process or on the day of regarding any complaints that they had against myself or my company and lastly in regards to Elaina personally!
2)      Private Meeting with On-Site Coordinator: My personal meeting with Elaina the morning of September 23rd was a pre scheduled none work related coffee appointment that Elaina & I scheduled on the calendar two weeks prior to their event date and the appointment was not business related however became so after receiving Mr. [redacted]’s complaints. I received the complaint email from Mr. [redacted] just before leaving to meet with Elaina and I would again like to make it clear that at no point did Mr. [redacted] request to be present for a sit down face to face meeting. Nor did he directly address his unhappiness with Elaina directly but solely towards myself and my company as he is doing in this misdirected complaint. Since both mine and Elaina’s email responses to Mr. [redacted]’s original complaints he has never requested a face to face meeting nor has he even taken the time to respond to our emails; however he has since reported my company to the Revdex.com and slandered it further via reviews on the internet!
3)      ½ Refund Request: This is correct! Mr. [redacted] did request a refund and this is and I quote exactly the response that he was given via email “At this time I can in advance let you know that a refund is not something that you would be receiving from myself personally or Tin Sparrow Events as you were contracted directly with Elaina for her services. Tin Sparrow Events did not retain 50% of your contracted package as I personally did not act as your Event Planner nor Day of Coordinator. This was specifically covered with you & [redacted] by myself very carefully during the contract signing meeting you had in my office with Elaina whom again only stepped in to help you, on your wedding, at your very persistent request as I was again personally booked and not available!!”. Mr. [redacted] and his Fiancé were told in person by myself 3 times that they were INDEPENDENTLY HIRING and PAYING Elaina to act as their Planner & Day of Coordinator. Cut, dry, plain and simple.
4)       “Lying”: This is incorrect! I did not at any point call Mr. [redacted] and his Fiancé liar’s in my response to their complaints. To clarify this further I will publicly make available my email response to Mr. [redacted]’s complaints on September 23rd and if the representative of the Revdex.com who is reviewing this could please let me know how to do this that would be very beneficial.
5)      “Relevant”: This is incorrect!! I did not at any point state that Mr. [redacted] and his Fiancé’s complaints were irrelevant and I even stated that I would further investigate them in detail in my email response to his complaints on September 23rd. Again I would like to publicly make available my email response to Mr. [redacted]’s complaints on September 23rd and if the representative of the Revdex.com who is reviewing this could please let me know how to do this that would again be very beneficial.
6)      “No Refund due to Excellence”: This is incorrect! Again this is exactly what I said in my email response to Mr. [redacted] and I quote “At this time I can in advance let you know that a refund is not something that you would be receiving from myself personally or Tin Sparrow Events as you were contracted directly with Elaina for her services. Tin Sparrow Events did not retain 50% of your contracted package as I personally did not act as your Event Planner nor Day of Coordinator. This was specifically covered with you & Laurie by myself very carefully during the contract signing meeting you had in my office with Elaina whom again only stepped in to help you, on your wedding, at your very persistent request as I was again personally booked and not available!!”. Again Mr. [redacted] and his Fiancé were told by myself, personally, out loud, 3 times that they were INDEPENDENTLY HIRING and PAYING Elaina to act as their Planner & Day of Coordinator. Again cut, dry, plain and simple. Nowhere in that response I sent on September 23rd did I say NO REFUNDS DUE TO MY SERVICE ALWAYS BEING EXCELLENT!!
7)      “Tin Sparrow Events Dropped the Ball at Our Wedding”: This is incorrect! Tin Sparrow Events wasn’t at your wedding. Elaina was at your wedding that you INDEPENDENTLY CONTRACTED to act as your Planner and Day of Coordinator and who did everything that she could to execute your wedding to the best of her ability under the most horrible weather conditions we have had in the Tri Cities during the 2016 wedding season. If 100 witnesses are available to honestly attest that myself, GariAnn [redacted] and my company, Tin Sparrow Events were the cause of the weather, power issues and other issues that occurred on your wedding day then I would like to see each one of these 100 complaints and have the opportunity to review them and meet with each person so that they can clearly and honestly state that I, GariAnn [redacted], personally as a representative of my business was present the day of your wedding and caused all the issues that occurred. When I was in fact in Dayton, WA on an event that I had been booked to perform services over 1 year, 1 month and 13 days before I received my first phone call from Mr. [redacted]. What is being claimed and reviews on the internet by Mr. [redacted] is slanderous!
Mr. [redacted] specifies in his claim here with the Revdex.com a few points that Elaina Primus has requested to personally address in detail:
1)      Inconsistencies during the planning process: This is correct! The inconsistency was due to the lack of Mr. [redacted] & his Fiancé’s responses to emails and text messages when requesting details or information from them. I have a detailed communication log that I would like to make available to show the amount of requests that were submitted to the clients where answers were needed before the planning process could proceed at multiple points thru out. If there is a way that I can make this available to the person handling this complaint review please let myself or GariAnn know.
2)      Reminding & Notifying of Items that needed to be done: This is incorrect! At no time did [redacted] or [redacted] have to provide reminders of items or services that had been discussed nor at any point did they notify me of items that needed to be taken care of or handled. Again I have a detailed communication log that reflects the amount of times I had to remind them to take care of bookings, payments and make decisions during the planning process. From independently being hired at no time was I ever reminded nor did [redacted] or [redacted] ever contact GariAnn with complaints on how their event was being handled nor did they specify that I was not handling specific elements of the planning process. Neither [redacted] nor [redacted] contacted GariAnn the day of the event to state that they were unhappy with how I was handling their wedding day and they never once approached me personally the day of with any form of complaints! I left the wedding feeling that despite the horrible weather and the issues that it caused that I had provided them with the best day possible and have since receiving and responding to their complaint email that they sent to GariAnn expressed my sadness and offered apologies but have not received anything from them in response!
3)       Constant Intervention of Guest & Wedding Party: This is incorrect! The only assistance that was provided to me was by the 3 girls that you assigned as my day of helpers and whose help was put to full usage. This can be further corroborated by both contacting the 3 girls that were provided to assist me and have them make statements to the amount of work that they were requested to perform. I will include more information to what all they assisted me with when I reach that point of the complaint later in this bulleted explanation.
4)      Timeline Execution: This is incorrect! Your generated and provided timeline was followed in its entirety. There were a few elements that were switched into an alternative time slot due to the horrible weather (ie. photography) and this time switch was addressed jointly with you by both myself as well as the photographer who I am sure if contacted would be more than happy to confirm. Your event in fact was ahead of schedule at one point of the evening after the unprepared DJ, you hired prior to independently hiring me, was able to get the correct music downloaded and himself back on track. I executed a flawless timeline where every element that you requested was covered and each activity was executed. You both appeared happy the day of your wedding, your guests were happy the day of your wedding and again I left with the impression that you were happy with everything I provided outside of the issues caused by the weather.
5)      Unable to keep helpers busy: This is incorrect! Just some of the tasks that they assisted me with include - Setting up all of theceremony chairs, filling all of the vases and wine bottles with water and flowers, duct taping over and over and over again all of the tables and décor due to the wind, clearing out the dance floor area, moving the dinner plates and assisting with setup in the food area, directing guests to the front of the yard for the ceremony, handing out plates and forks during dinner service, walking around and picking up plates and trash during dinner, and cutting the cakes just to name a few. The amount of wind and rain that occurred on your wedding day required multiple resets of your linens, centerpieces as well as garbage removal that was blowing into the yard, chair resetting from being blown over as well as assistance when we ultimately removed everything from the tables!! The helpers were busy and they were a huge help to me and I am sure that they would be more than happy to corroborate the amount of work that they did if properly asked.
I apologize that there is not more detailed information provided but GariAnn and I are attempting to address everything with the Revdex.com regarding this complaint as quickly as possible so we have include a very minimal account of what actually occurred in response to the inaccurate statements being made by Mr. [redacted] and his now wife. If there is any further clarification that is needed to assist you in recognizing that this is a false claim against GariAnn [redacted] and Tin Sparrow Events, as well as myself please feel free to email GariAnn at [email protected]. I would also like to make my email responses publicly available as well as the response that GariAnn sent responding to the original allegations so if you could please instruct us on how to do that it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your vigilant & accurate review of this false claim against Tin Sparrow Events.
