I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below

On Dec4, we received a returned check on the above account due to insufficient funds (bank note on returned check "Do Not Present Again"), and this was the original check for water payment (due 11/15/17) that was made and received on 11/21/On Dec4, we notified the
customer of the returned checkOur policy when this happens is that when the customer is notified of a returned check they are expected tobe in to pickup the check within to days, and payment must be in cash and include a $return check fee. If not picked up, utility service will be disconnected. The customer came in and told us that her bank had paid the check and she should not have to pay anythingThe ladies in the water office told her that we would need something from the bank showing that a bank error was madeIn checking with our accountant there had been no re-deposit to our account.The check was not picked up until 1/3/18, at this time the December bill was past due. The customer still insisted that the check was paid by her bank, and again, she was advised that we needed a letter from her bank supporting her statementWhen she picked up the check, we gave her a copy of the returned check and told her that she needed to take this to her bankThe ladies were not hateful, nor was she told that someone wouldbe out in minutes to disconnect the waterShe did speak to the supervisor who told her the same thing.The amount that was paid was : $(returned check amt)(Decpast-due amt)(returned check fee)$
