Review: On September **, 2015 I went into Tip Top Awning inc. to purchase a new awning. I left a 500 cash deposit with owner to purchase a new awning. The owner stated that he would come to my home and take measurements. He never arrived after at least eight different attempts. I never entered into any contract at all with company and it has become apparent that they were not interested in my business. But they are refusing to return my money. They want to take my money provide no awning and no longer answering my calls whatsoever. Buyer beware do not do any type of business with [redacted] Brooklyn, NY owner Steve . They will steal your money and provide no product.Desired Settlement: I want my deposit of 500.00 returned immediately. I gave 500 cash to Steve and Denise on September **, 2015

Review: On 07/**/13, I hired Tip Top Aluminum to install an awing and 2 sercurity doors at my residence for the total sum of $4,950.00. I advised the company in January of 2014 that the awning leaks water that settles over my steps causing a safety hazard (black ice). I also advised them that 1 of the security doors are rusting. The company advised me that someone will contact me to setup an appointment. After not hearing back from the company, I re-contact them in early February, March & April and each time I was told someone will contact me. The work they performed is suppose to be warranty for 25 years. After being disgusted with this company, I had my lawyer write them a letter requesting to remedy the situation, I received one call back and the company wanted to set an appointment on my wedding anniversary 6/*/14. I told them I was not available and once again I was told someone will call me back. Well, I'm still waiting for that call back, today is 8/*/14.Desired Settlement: Replace the rusted security door & stop the awning from leaking on my steps which is causing a hazardous conditions when the temperature drops below freezing.

Review: Tip Top Aluminum was hired to build an outside structure in the back of the house with plexiglass, aluminum frame and storm door. Before initializing work they refused to show previous work performed in the area as a reference. The materials and plan were not clearly stated before work had begun. The result is a structure that leaks, the frame is not mounted straight and nails are protruding. In addition, they added additional costs to the work and did not include them in the contract. On the day the work was performed they arrived in the late afternoon(2pm) and rushed to finish before daylight ended. They demanded the balance be paid despite the incompleteness and dissatisfaction of the job. [redacted] never appeared to supervise the work nor did he call, only to discuss payment. The work remains unfinished at this time.Desired Settlement: Request for refund from Tip Top to find another company to remove and/or improve the structure to satisfaction(without leaks, etc.)

STAY AWAY!!! Worse contractors I've ever dealt with. Tip Top is not only incompetent they can't even install a freaking gutter without leaking. They lie. It's taken them four months to do a two day job (every week they'd reschedule and/or not show up). Even after numerous phone calls to confirm, they'd schedule an appointment and then don't even show up. The owner, Steve is shameless, unapologetic and a coward. After this aggravation and payment, we have leaky gutters. So not only is the business practices awful the work is awful as well. The owner Steve hides behind his secretary who lies for him and has to deal with the angry customers. If you've already made the mistake and happened to signed a contract with them, I would advise you to hold 20-30% until it rains and you are completely satisfied because he will take your money and not show up or return calls. I would have given them 0 stars if that was an option. If you are considering Tip Top Aluminum but are looking into the reviews, save yourself from the frustration and do not hire these people as your awning contractor, even if you pay more with another company, it will be well worth it.

Review: Back in July 2013 we called to have our awning repaired. There were many leaks. It took until November *, 2013 for them to finally come. They cancelled two other appointments prior to that date. Two men came and worked on my awning. I paid them $250.00. The very next day it rained. Not only did the same leaks happen but it was much worse. My deck was flooded. I immediately called and spoke to a [redacted] who informed me she would put me on the list again. It is now November [redacted], 2013 and I still haven't heard from anyone.Desired Settlement: I would like for my deck not to leak anymore, now not next year.

Review: This sun room was signed contract in June 2013 to be completed by September of 2013. As of October 2014 it has not been completed. We have tried calling the [redacted] many times and he hasn't returned any calls. When we realized that none of our phone calls were returned we sent a summons and then we got a phone call that it will be finished by the end of September of 2014. He didn't show up at the end of September. We had asked him if we should take someone else to complete the sun room and he said no and we are scheduled for October *, 2014 to be completed. He didn't show up on October * either. Our Holiday is October * and we do not have our sun room ready. Many people have told us that they have gone to the Revdex.com or summons to court and he hasn't respond to any of them. How is he still allowed to be in business???Desired Settlement: Refund me in full.

Sicerely,

Review: Work contracted: closing a terrace with six sliding aluminum double pane windows + insect protecting screens. Contract signed on 6/*/2013, with an agreed deadline 6/**/2013. After paying an advance amount ($1,320) at the contract signing, two workers came and cut existing frames and installed another frame (may be 10% of the contract value). When left, they asked and received a second check for another $1,320. In the contract, and on both checks was written the agreed deadline. After one week ,Tiptop started to call us asking to give them a verbal approval to change the agreed contract solution. [The agreed solution was actually discussed, suggested by [redacted], agreed with him, and written/drawn in the signed contract]. Finally, they suggested another solution, not as good as the first one included in the contract, but acceptable to us. As usually, after we accepted their solution, they were breaking the communication again and no date was established to finalize their work. Since then, nothing happened. I would like to mention that this company was very difficult to work with: breaking communication for long periods of time, cashing the checks and cutting the existing frame and after that changing the mutually agreed solution - making impossible for us to cancel the contract, pretending that they do not understand what we want (even though there was a contract signed/details established).Desired Settlement: WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE TERRACE WORK COMPLETED, even though they were very non-cooperative, obstructing communication and not being honest along the whole process explaining exactly that they want to change the agreed solution or they did not want/can respect the contractual deadline.

We were all the time flexible, cooperative and correct. We trusted them-paid in advance the money they asked for, waited for them many days in a row to come and complete the work or at least to email/call and say when they will finish.

We are afraid that they will not perform a quality work and use their advertised materials (as on their website and leaflets). Besides the drawing and very few details on the contract, there was no technical specification detailing the kind of work they want to perform. We hope that, with your help the job will be done, and done properly.

Sincerely,

Review: We had an awning installed on 3/**/2013, whereupon once the installation was completed, was very dissatisfied with the quality of workmanship performed. Contacted company via telephone, emailed company pictures of poor work performed, told Manager [redacted] would come out to review work performed by his people. Never happened. Then in May, 2013, we noticed new awning material started to ripple so called company again as well as email them pictures again of poor work performed from installation as well as picture of awning defects. Company informed me that they were 4 weeks behind in completing repairs and that someone would be in contact. Again, no one has called to confirm that work needs their attention. It is now June **, 2013, still no one has contacted me. I called them today and spoke with [redacted], scheduling personnel and she informed me that she will have [redacted] get back to us. First, we did not get the awning that was picked out by husband, some cheap alternative, the look of the awning is very crappy and now it's defective. I am very disappointed in the workmanship, quality & their customer service follow-up skills.Desired Settlement: Their website is very well represented that one would think they would get quality work, but it's very poor. Had I seen that they had previous customer complaints, I would have never used them. If I do not get the replacement/repairs done, I will take them to court.
