Tire City and Automotive Service Reviews (1)

TLDR: Manager and GM are very rude, unprofessional and have no concern for safety. Would not trust my car at this shop. No standard for your safety unless you pay for it. DO NOT GO HERE.

I will be sure to let all my military brothers and sisters from Dannelly field, Maxwell, and Gunter to avoid this shop at all costs.

I had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with this excuse for a tire shop. I brought my car to get two new tires, front driver's side and front passenger on 7 Oct 15. Next day my driver's side tire was losing tire pressure so I called and spoke to Jared and was told to bring it in next day. 9 Oct 15 I brought in my car to be checked out and was brought in to be shown a crack that was on the underside of my rim.

I was told they would bead my tire to help keep the pressure up so that way I could bring it home and attempt to get a new rim. I asked as to why until the new tire was put on did I start losing tire pressure. One of the techs told me that the old tire was seated in a certain way that kept the tire from leaking. I asked to speak to the manager and asked why the crack in my rim wasn't noticed the day before when the new tires were put on. He told me that tire was fine until I got it back and I must have somehow put a crack in it within the one day that I had the car. I told him that was not the case and he kept saying that it was the only plausible possibility, that it was my fault.

I told him the crack had to have been there before and reminded him that his tech told me about the old tire keeping the tire pressure in check with the crack already being there and how if I had put the crack there myself there would be some type of visual damage on the brand new tire. He went to talk to his tech and brought back his GM who was apparently Jared. Jared approached me and asked what is the issue, "I'd like to hear it from the horse's mouth". I let that unprofessional comment slide and went on to tell him as to what happened and how putting on a tire on a cracked rim is a safety issue and that it should have been caught. Jared told me that they do not inspect rims for cracks when putting on tires and essentially how it's not their issue that the crack wasn't in plain site for them to see.

I asked Jared how the practice of not inspecting rims before new tires were put on was OK and was told if I want for them to start checking It would be money out of my pocket. Which essentially to me means money for safety. Through out my time asking Jared to help give me a discount on a steel rim I was spoken to like a child was told "I DON'T LIKE BEING TOLD WHAT TO DO" when asking him to help me get a discount. I also assume being Hispanic I was racially profiled when saying the word steelies, Jared very rudely said "what is steelies that is not a technical term, you might say that in California but not here". Overall I don't understand how a disrespectful man such as Jared is a GM.

After having enough of being talked to like a child and getting no where with help I decided to leave to which I was told by the manager, "Per Jared you cannot leave, we need to put your spare on due to safety issues." to which I responded why is safety your concern when a day before you let me leave with a cracked rim and you don't check for deficiencies on my or others people's rims unless said person brings it back in with a concern. I told the manager to get Jared who had just 5 minutes before told me I was fine to leave due to them beading my rim. When the manager walked away to get Jared he under his breath said "you don't want to keep doing this". I don't know how to take that statement, but initial reaction and response to me is taking it as a threat.

When Jared arrived he told me he wouldn't let me leave until they put on my spare, to which I repeated what I told the manager. I said "you told me earlier beading my tire would be safe until I got home and bringing up the issue now all of a sudden makes it unsafe", to which Jared's response was "that is a consequence for bringing up the issue". After that statement I had enough and left
