I appreciated the phone call from *** and the time he took to listen and speak with meI was pleased to learn that he was also disturbed by my experience, and I feel more assured that what happened to me does not appear to be standard business practice for Tire Engineers. Regards,

Reviewed suggested recommendation from the store. Vehicle had 184,miles. Struts can be suggested for improved performance as soon as 50,miles. This particular vehicle had signs of leaking shock absorbers. Front and Rear struts were
suggested due to mileage and leaking shock absorbers(which is a sign of wear), also tires had signs of cupping with edgewear. Tire tread depth on all tires driver front 3/32nds passenger front low point 2/32nds of tread driver rear low point w/cupping 5/32nds and rear passenger with cupping low point 4/32nds of tread. Tires were suggested due to low tread and cupping. New tires would give improved ride, handling and braking for the vehicle. Suggested two serpentine belts due to wear and the belt tensioner due to rust, mileage and age (appeared to be original equipment on the tensioner). An alignment would be suggested to be completed when replacing steering or suspension parts, also tires showed signs of edgewear. Alignment would have been check and adjusted with approval if needed upon completing check and/or completing any suspension and/or steering work. Recommendation for the vehicle are supported based on inspection and vehicle information. Thank you

Good afternoon. Reached out to Ms. [redacted]. Apologized for the issue and offered resolution by refunding her bill from Toyota. She declined offer and told me she just wanted to be heard about how she feels about the visit. I again apologized and left the door open for future...

resolution.

The initial visit and paid service was for a vehicle inspection, not tires.  A vehicle inspection is an over view of the vehicle based on actual physical condition, schedule manufacturer maintenance and services along with vehicle opportunities to improve vehicle performance, handling, etc.  The purpose of taking you into the shop, is to show you items of concern, and/or opportunity, so that any questions you may have in regard can be asked and discussed while at the vehicle.  Although the tires were part of the estimate, there were other items listed that were potential contributors to the tire condition and cupping that were present when the vehicle was brought to the location.  Other items were listed, as well, that were pertinent to the paid vehicle inspection that was conducted.  The information contained in the inspection is used to educate the customer on vehicle conditions, not dictate or mandate what the customer chooses to have completed.  If you are available, I would extend the opportunity, for you and I, to find an agreeable date and time, to come to any location, that is most convenient for you, so that we may discuss further, your vehicle, and any additional concerns that you may have.  Thank you.

I have attempted to call this customer numerous times with no success.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I took my vehicle to a reputable Auto Repair business that's been in operation for over 40 years and they could find nothing that needed replacement, other than the tires and I already knew that. Reason I went to Tire Engineers in the first place. I also talked to a used car salesman who told me every tire dealer he ever knew tried to add a lot of unnecessary work in addition to the tires. I rest my case
