refused service refused name
a person who refused to call me or identify themselves canceled my order without my consent. they claimed I was rude, but all I did was point out that I regularly receive heavy/large items at my po box, hence their training for refusing to use my address for shipment was false and I suspected they were lying to me.

so, look. you absolutely could have sent tire chains to my po box. I receive boxes of books that weigh over fifty pounds. your chains are not that heavy. you refused to do it because you didn't want to inconvenience yourself.

you refused to give me your name/number or call me because you know i'm right. and you choose to hide behind anonymity and text messaging. if anyone was rude it was you for not calling me and for not identifying yourself. I have your phone number though and would be happy to provide it to the owner.

maybe you are the owner and you don't care. in any case, you don't deserve my business, nor can I imagine that you like your work much, if you can't see to handling orders and having your website set up properly.

if you won't ship to p.o. boxes, you should really do what other businesses do in that case, instruct your website not to accept them as valid. otherwise you're just angering potential clients.

as your website is set up to accept my address, you should make every effort to make good on the sale and should assume that I ordered these chains because I very much needed them, and noe you've set me back valuable time, and caused a complete lack of trust in your business which you claim to manage.

i've been a business owner. if anyone who worked for me treated me like you did, I would fire them. not only did you cancel my order against my protest, you refused to even have the conversation and then you blocked my number from calling you.

I was not rude, I was in need. you treated me like I didn't matter, and maybe to you, today, that's true. but, i'm sure i'm not the only one. i'm sure this is a pattern for you. and it will come back to bite you eventually.

I will never ever try to be so brazen as to BUY something from this company ever ever again.

BUYER BEWARE: Wrong Chains, Poor Service
BUYER BEWARE: I provided tirechains.com with specific and correct information for chains for my tractor, including tractor make, model, year, and EXACT tire specifications. Spent $500. Chains delivered in 2020. Not needed or taken out of box until 2021. First trial fitting, as per seller's instructions before use, revealed chains were 28" too short. TWO FEET, FOUR INCHES. Chains were unused, but seller refused to replace with proper size chains. Offered to sell extra links at half price.

complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I fully understand the UPS stance on weather delays (act of God). It is in my opinion that the package should have been delivered on Saturday, 11/to continue with my Next Day Air shipping selection for which I paid for. The package had "No Charge" "Saturday Delivery" decals added to point out the fact that it was a package that needed delivery status upgraded. For a company such as TireChains.com to play on the weather as an EXCUSE for poor delivery service is unacceptable in my opinion. I am the customer that paid for their product, which they made a profit on. A company needs to step up and provide the service that was paid for or refund the customer. I am a product manager at my company and fully understand what customer service needs to be - TireChain.com is not it. I would, again, request a refund of my shipping charges to the degree of the service I was provided (2nd day air or ground shipping). I spoke in person to a UPS regional manager and he agreed that TireChain.com should come to the table on behalf of their customer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  It would be great if they would pay the freight for the return.  I would think as a manufacturer, they would be concerned about a product they make, that has potential safety design issues.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
My original e-mail to the vendor was to inform them of what I considered an unsafe situation with their product.  First off, the cable chain barely fits the application.  I have installed chains most of my life, and these chains took 45 minutes in the snow to install.  The only link I could connect was the very last one.  My main concern was that there is an 18 to 20 inch gap in the cable chain when installed that in snowy and icy conditions cause the tire to slip until it gets to the next cable location.  In my situation the truck would spin the tire, then hit the next cable and gain traction again.  This really messes with the traction control system on my vehicle.  I believe if you were to hit a large icy patch on the road and the gap was making contact with the ice, you could lose control and potentially collide with someone or something.  I wanted to make the vendor aware of the problem.  Granted the cable chains got me home that day, and out of town the next day.  I was up front in my first e-mail to them by sending a picture of the tire with the cable chain installed with snow all around it.  I never misrepresented the fact the cable chains were unused. When I removed the chains, the roads were still wet, but not snowy.  I had a long drive ahead of me, so I didn't have time to clean the chains.  They were not driven in salty conditions.  I discussed replacement of the cable chains, but they would only sell me the same type that I felt were not correct for the truck.  You would think a competent and responsible vendor would appreciate a consumer telling them about a potential problem that could cause litigation for them in the future, I guess I was wrong.
I definitely do not accept this response from them.

Regarding [redacted]The chains were returned rusted and used.Normally a chain can be tested a short distance without signs of wear or use. But in this case, the chains appear to be driven many miles and put away wet and or exposed to salt.We only accept product that is resellable. These would go to scrap. He is welcome to have them back, we ship them back to him at no charge as long as he accepts this as final dialogue. If we don’t hear from him by 3/25/2017 regarding accepting the return of his used chains, they well be scrapped.Below is our return policy detailing that it must be returned in new, unused condition.“Returns must be received by tirechains.com within 15 days of delivery date. Returns for refund are subject to a 15% restocking charge. Effective January 2, 2006, UPS is charging shippers for the return of undeliverable packages, including but not limited to - refused packages and those whore three attempts were unsuccessful. Any item that is refused or undeliverable, return shipping will be billed to the customer in addition to the original shipping charges. Chains must be returned in new, unused condition. Credit will be issued less actual shipping charges incurred by tirechains.com. RGA # (return goods authorization) required. No returns accepted without RGA number on outside of package, RGA # MUST BE REQUESTED VIA EMAIL [email protected]. EMAIL SUBJECT MUST INCLUDE YOUR ORDER#. No Fedex returns accepted”His account needs to be noted that the customer is attempting to manipulate the chargeback system for his error.Best regards,TireChain.com

Buyer Beware: If anyone is planning to buy tire chains, do not purchase chains from TireChains.com. They are an incompetent and ignorant “middle man”.

It seems that they only stock a limited number of chain sizes and they send you an inappropriately sized chain and then tell you to cut them to fit (both width and length). Hats can be a one-size-fits-all but tire chains should not be.

I recently bought two sets of chains for my truck and when they arrived they were two sizes too big. I contacted the company and emailed them photos of the improper fit. (As a CO resident and a commercial truck driver, I know how chains should properly fit without risking damage to the vehicle.) I received a response that it is acceptable for the chains to be wide enough to nearly touch the rim on both sides of the tire and that it is common for every chain to be too long and I just have to trim to fit; so they would not offer a refund. The company then proceeded to delete my photos and so when I called to dispute their decision I was asked to re-send my photos. I contacted a local chain and tire specialist that agreed that the chains were too large and that the stock number of my shipped chains validated that as they referenced a much larger tire. The company refused to take them back and I was forced to file a complaint with PayPal.

Its like going to a restaurant and receiving an under-cooked hamburger and having the waiter tell you that "a well done burger should be bloody, if you want it cooked more you have to cook it yourself”.

Review: I have been attempting for over a week now to come to a resolve on UPS Red shipping charges to be refunded. I placed an order with TireChain.com on Thursday 11/13/14 for four(4) sets of tire chains to be delivered UPS Next Day Air. Due to a weather delay on Thursday in Pittsburgh, PA, the package was not delivered on the following day Friday. The package a UPS Saturday Delivery and a Saturday Delivery No Charge sticker (photos available). The package was not delivered on Saturday 11/15/14. The package finally arrived on Monday 11/17/14. I did not receive the shipping service which I paid for and therefore I am requesting a refund of guaranteed delivery fees of $254.91My order number with TireChain.com : [redacted]UPS Tracking Number: [redacted] spoke to both Tirechains.com and UPS several times and have been given the run around and have had no support. UPS denies a Saturday status and will not budge on any type of refund.TireChain.com has block my IP address from accessing their website and has blocked by Cell Phone number from attempting to call them any further. TireChain will not complain on my behalf to UPS and will not offer any type of shipping refund.I paid $256.91 in UPS Next Day air freight and did not receive the service I paid for. Both UPS and TireChain.com are fraudulent companies that simply hang up on customers and then block access to contact them any further.Desired Settlement: A refund of my UPS Next Day Air shipping costs of $254.91 or at least a reduction to the shipping rate of the service I actually received - UPS Ground Shipping charges.
