Sorry for the delay. We resolved this issue with the customer within days of the original service. We agreed to give her a credit on her account for the brake work that she needed done. I thought your paperwork was not updated
To Whom This May Concern:I am writing in response to a complaint by the above named customer. Her vehicle Wasinspected by a certi?ed, licensed inspector who has worked for our shop for many years. Ms.[redacted]’s vehicle failed inspection date to her Window tint being too low on the Windshieldand for...
her right front tire tread was worn to 1/32. l have enclosed a copy of the inspection ruleregarding window tint and a copy of that rule was given to the customer as well. The Wear of hertire tread on the right front exceeded the legal limit. Her tire was a 1//32 at the time of inspectionand the state limit is 2/32. The customer suggested that she would buy a tire elsewhere and bringthe vehicle back to our shop for inspection stickers. But the windshield tint was still an issue. The state limit is three inches from the top of the windshield and her tint is six inches from thetop. (double the iimit)The customer threatened to call the police and We encouraged her to do so. Our technician willnot jeopardize his inspection license to accointnodate a customer's wishes. The state policeofficer would have agreed with our deeion and asked for the information of the shop thatpassed her vehicle with the windshield tint as is. We do not service windshield tinting so we hadnothing to gain by failing her vehicle for the violation. It is never a pleasant experience to fail acustomer's vehicle and we hope she was able to resolve the issue. The company that installed theWindow tinting against regulations would be at fault hereThank you for your assistance resolvmg this issue.Sincerly,Patti L[redacted]Of?ce Manager
Review: On 06/25/2014 I had Tires Etc complete my PA State Inspection; I also requested an oil change. I was advised my car required rear brake pads to be replaced to pass state inspection. There was also other work performed on my vehicle to pass the state inspection. After picking up my vehicle, the brakes did not feel right but I noticed no immediate issue. After speaking with my boyfriend about taking it easy on my breaks because they did not feel right, we learned that the emergency brake did not work at all. This combined with preparing for a long trip in the vehicle, I checked my oil change sticker and realized my oil was not changed on 06/25/2014 as requested. I took my vehicle back to Tires Etc to have the brakes looked at and to have the oil change completed today, 09/10/2014. When I explained the issue with my vehicle the store manager immediately tried to imply that my emergency brake not working had no connection to the rear service brake pad replacement, thus removing the company from any blame or neglect. There was no apology for the missed oil change. I received a call later that the issue had been diagnosed - and as they replaced the brake pads and not the rotors they did not clean or adjust the rear brakes after the install. This was neglect on the part of Tires Etc, and yet I was charged for the service that should have been completed along with the pad replacement on 06/25/2014. The store manager informed me of his "nice invitation" to return to Tires Etc was letting me keep the oil change coupon that is always readily available online.Desired Settlement: I am seeking a full refund of my bill in the amount of $56.89 for inconvenience, poor customer service, & neglect on the part of Tires Etc when replacing my rear service brakes on 06/25/2014. Learning that this neglect was in fact the reason my emergency brake did not engage is extremely worrisome; if I had needed it to work in an actual emergency, my life along with the lives of others on the road would have been in jeopardy.
