I have spoken to Mr*** and told him I would investigate the paperwork and call him back. I have called and left messages twice since then with no response so I am responding here to close. On 10/21/Mr*** came in for an oil change during which we notified
him of a loose tie rod end and a suggestion to degrease engine to find a leak. These recommendations were declined and the guest returned on 12/29/asking for an inspection due to brake pedal going to mostly to floor. The inspection recommends the same tie rod end again and shows the brakes in good shape with nothing suggested on the inspection. The store did not have a master tech that day and were therefore unable to find anything wrong with brakes, but suggested it could be a master cylinder and would need further inspection from master tech. The sales person also had noticed a cut wire and assumed it was an ABS wire(this was not noted on the inspection since it was not an ABS wire). The guest states that we moved the spring on his pass rear brake and this caused the brake pedal to be low, however during the first visit on 10/21/we did not remove the tires and did not inspect the brakes, only an oil change and visual inspection. The guest states that the spring was the issue leading to the pedal problem and while this may be true we could not have caused it since we did not remove wheels on first visit. The sales person who suggested the possible master cylinder or brake flush due to brake pedal issue was only offering a possible solution until the master tech could look at vehicle to confirm. This sales person also gave quote on ABS sensor since he believed the cut wire to have once been an ABS sensor. This vehicle did not have ABS and nothing on the inspection suggests a reason to quote this. If and when Mr*** returns my call I will give him an in store credit based on the fact that there was clearly some miscommunication(ABS) that cannot be explained, however the store was clearly not the cause of the low brake pedal Wayne ***

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/08/10) */
*** Per a phone call with Gill from Tires Plus "The Situation with Mr*** was resolved the next day after the situation happened."

Per our company policy, tire warranties are void when premature wear is caused by failed part on the vehicle. This issue was something that we could only see once the vehicle was in the air for the tire replacement. The original tires were...

purchased on 10/4/2011 and 11/27/2012. Our records do not show a single rotation from the time of purchase through 6/27/2015. The vehicle odometer indicated the vehicle traveled just under 20,000 miles from the time of the initial tire purchase. The failed parts coupled with a lack of documented rotations void the warranty policy per Tires Plus. The customer was given a choice to have the original tires put back on, but decided to keep the new tires and pay the bill.

Per phone call with Manager Cal: "We have worked through the issue with Sarah on our end and resolved it without the aide of Revdex.com"

We do not advertise a 30 minute oil change guarantee as we are a franchise location and not a corporate location.   Since we are not equipped for that type of service and we do not want to mislead our guests we have this posted in the showroom as well as letting every guest know in advance...

when their vehicle will be completed.   This does not seem to be the true problem, but since it was stated we will respond. The radiator complaint is difficult to respond to since we have not seen or understand what "his" mechanic has done to the vehicle.   The fact is that there was an oily fluid that appeared to be transmission fluid in the coolant reservoir, this was confirmed by the servicing tech as well as by a 30 year Master ASE mechanic.    The only way this fluid can get into the reservoir is for someone to have poured it in or for it to come from the radiator, the only place where coolant and transmission fluids can mix is in the radiator.   The coolant appeared to not have been changed in a very long time and the leak is most likely slow based on the appearance of the fluid.   What did the other mechanic do that Mr. [redacted] paid him for and wants us to reimburse? Mr. [redacted] decided to use the information given to him by us as he has in the past to repair his vehicle as is his right.  This however does not entitle him to any refund based on the work we did not do.   Again, we are unsure of what he paid his mechanic to do since he says this was unnecessary.   It seems odd that Mr. [redacted] considers us "scammers" yet has many times used our free inspections to his advantage and asks for future free oil changes as compensation.   If he truly felt that way he would not use our services in the future. We wish Mr. [redacted] well and hope that he has no further issues with his coolant/ radiator.   If he notices transmission fluid in the coolant in the future I am sure his other mechanic can properly diagnose it.

I am rejecting this response because:The service representative told me that it was important to have the sensors reprogrammed for safety.  There was no mention of a $19.99 service charge when I purchased the tires that would be necessary to maintain safety each time I needed...

to have my tires rotated. Reprogramming the sensors is a necessary part of a tire rotation like tightening the lug nuts. Does Tires Plus agree they knowingly and willingly performed a service on my vehical knowing they were making it less safe?

The reprogramming of each tire pressure sensors location has no bearing on the vehicles safety. Disabling the system would jeopardize the vehicle/consumer safety. We did not do this. The sensors themselves work properly. The location shown on your dashboard is what is not accurate. Example, your pressure light comes on, and dash shows the driver front tire, but the tire flat is the passenger rear. The relearn procedure is to correlate the locations to your dash accurately.  The relearn procedure was offered, and declined. It is not, as you stated, a "necessary part of a tire rotation like tightening lug nuts." We don't want your wheels flying off, that is a safety issue. The Consumer has the option to accept or decline if they want the positions to read correctly for their own peace of mind, instead of checking all for tires to find the one that is reading low. It is a little more leg work, than checking the dash and going to the right tire, but by no means, jeopardizes anyone's safety.  Thank you for your response.  Giovanni [redacted]

The whole team at St Anthony Tires Plus feels bad for making you wait while the keys were brought back to the store. This was a mistake on our part during a busy time where the salesperson did not want to misplace the keys. Unfortunately he...

did and this happened, for that the manager did remove an additional $50.00 from the bill as well as give the guest 3 free oil change coupons to use in future to reassure them of our normal guest service(which the guest has before rated us high). The guest was also given a 10% discount on the complete job showing that we did indeed "work with" the price. Most shops do not apply diagnostic towards the required repair unless doing the diagnostic would involve removal of the needed parts.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2016/03/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I was not given 50 dollars off my total bill, I was told since I had already paid there was nothing that could be done. I was offered three free oil changes, however I had already stated several times I would never return to tires plus so 3 free oil changes would not do me any good. The only reason I was given 10 percent off my bill is because I had found a coupon for registering my email address for future offers I would recieve a 10 percent of coupon, so this was nothing the store did to work with me, this was something I found myself. Your response is very inaccurate!
