Review: I hired this company to complete a local move which included 3 men and a truck with insurance of the items being moved. The move was scheduled for Friday, November 20, 2015 at 10am. After multiple contacts, the movers arrived at 3:30pm. Since the start of the move, the crew was rushed and was trying to make up the lost time. The first box moved was a box of dishes that were dropped and destroyed. After the truck was loaded and arrived at my new home, the movers continued at their rushed pace. They quickly unloaded the truck and soon after the manager, Jack, requested payment. At the time of payment, he explained that if any damages were found, I should call him to initiate the claims process. I paid for the move and the movers left.
When I had the opportunity to unpack my belongings later that evening, I discovered several damages that were intentionally hidden:
- Deep floor scratches on refinished hardwood floors were covered with boxes
- A dresser was badly scratched and had chunks of wood missing and was turned around facing a wall
- A 46’’ plasma TV was improperly transferred and is no longer operable
- The display platform of the TV stand was ripped from the base due to handling
- Various chips and cracks to additional furniture
I contacted Jack, the manager, the following morning to begin the claims process and he did not answer. When I called Sunday morning, he advised he would email the claim form. When I did not receive the form Sunday or Monday, I attempted to call and text him again Tuesday and Wednesday but he did not respond. I was able to reach him Friday using an alternate phone number. He advised he would text and email the link to the claim form and to call him back if I did not receive it. I waited 4 hours to receive the text or email, then attempted to reach him again over the next 3 days, but he did not answer and did not return messages.Desired Settlement: I would like to file an insurance claim to be compensated for the damages caused by the moving crew. The current estimate is $900 to repair the damaged items.
