The claimant's wife was a guest of ours at the Astor Crown Plaza on 10/- 10/Upon her arrival,she was issued a valet parking ticket for her vehicle which displays our parking policy/liability for the guest to reviewUpon departure, her vehicle was pulled up about mid-ramp giving her the option to walk either in front of or behind her vehicleAs the claimant indicated, his wife walked behind her vehicle to enter in on the driver's side and did not inspect it for damages prior to leaving the premisesPer our parking policy, "customer agrees to inspect the vehicle before leaving premisesCustomer's claim of damage or loss must be reported and itemized in writing on Company's incident report before vehicle is taken from the lot following a claim of loss, and if not so made, any such claim is waived by Customer." Later that evening the claimant called the hotel to report the damageThe following day Jonathan M [redacted] spoke with the claimant regarding the incident and filed a report over the phone for record keeping purposes and advise the claimant about our policyJonathan also offered to reimburse the claimant's wife for overnight parking in the spirit of guest services for a delayed departure, but the claimant refusedFurthermore, Jonathan continued to investigate the claim by watching video footage from 2PM - 6PM and concluded the vehicle appeared to arrive in the same travel lane on 10/as it departed in on 10/and the bumper appeared the same on both the arrival and departureBefore the claimant received the company's denial letter, Jonathan personally contacted the claimant to explain what he observed on camera and to reiterate the company's parking policyWhen the claimant became irate and began using foul language towards Jonathan, the call was terminated, and the official correspondence was submitted with a copy to the hotel.As the trusted partner for the Astor Crown Plaza, GOPARK made the hotel aware of the incident prior to reviewing cameras, followed up with the investigation notes, along with the denial letterWhile GOPARK could have simply denied the claim on the basis of the claimant's wife departing without filing a report, we chose to look deeper into this matter in an effort to satisfy our guest, ensure GOPARK's employees are driving responsibly, and being held accountable
