Titan Signs

Review: Titan signs knowingly installed the wrong size sign on our restaurant fascade without notifying us that it would be a violation of permitting and code inforcement. They charged us $1500. to install the incorrect sign and now are holding the correct sign and trying to charge us another $1200. to install it.Desired Settlement: We would expect them to install the correct sign that we contracted them to do for no charge since we already paid them. The underlying issue is they knowingly installed the wrong size sign causing us to be in violation with Prince William county zoning and permitting and are now in possession of the sign we paid for. They charged us $1500. and demanded immediate payment knowing that it was a code violation. Now are trying to charge another $1200. for removal of the incorrect sign and install.

We were approached by [redacted] to provide permits and installation labor for an 18" channel letter set for [redacted]. We provided a contract to [redacted]. We obtained the permit as required and scheduled a time with [redacted] to install the sign. [redacted] had the crated sign at his business location and upon arrival we uncrated the channel letter set and discovered the sign was a 9" channel letter set. We were instructed by [redacted] to install the smaller sign letter set.

Titan Sign Corporation was not involved with any dealings between [redacted] and [redacted] regarding the size of the sign.

[redacted] produced the correct channel letter set as a normal course of action. The replacement set was sent to Titan Sign Corporation as we were the permit holder for installation. [redacted] was informed by us of removal and installation fees. Several attempts were made to contact [redacted] to schedule installation of the correct letter set. [redacted] made no attempt to reply.

The current sign installed (the 9" channel letter set) is not in violation with county zoning due to the fact that the installed sign is smaller than what was permitted. We have not finalized our permit inspection as a favor to the business owner giving him and [redacted] time to address the situation. While waiting for communication from [redacted], we were notified of the complaint filed with the Revdex.com.

Titan Sign has been doing business in the community for over 17 years. We have never been accused of such action as communicated by [redacted]. We conduct business in a professional manner.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. We were not in violation of code as we were to believe. [redacted] is working with the sign installers to get the correct sign installed.
