On September 11, 2012, I was in a car accident in my leased 2012 Honda Accord. My insurance company authorized and paid T.J.A. Auto Collision for all OEM replacement parts, and Mr. [redacted] of T.J.A. Auto Collision, promised me he would use only OEM parts because the vehicle was only three months old and a lease. I was told by my insurance company that the repairs should take 15 days; Mr. [redacted] told me "it shouldn't take that long." After 2 1/2 months of excuse after excuse--mostly about not being able to find a power steering pump--I demanded my car be returned to me. It was delivered to my home without any paperwork. Two months later, I took my car to the Honda dealership (where it was purchased) for service, as a directional bulb had burned out, (I thought) and was told that the power steering pump was a junkyard part. In addition, the power steering belt (next to the pump) was literally falling apart with pieces all over the inside of the car; and the "burned-out bulb" was actually an incorrect bulb for my car. The service technician told me that the car was not safe to drive. I called Mr. [redacted] and threatened legal action. He paid for the new belt; however, I still have the junkyard pump in my car. I am concerned about the ramifications when my lease is up and my safety. In addition, my car has recently begun to make an intermittent whining noise, and at times, the steering wheel vibrates. I had the car checked by the dealer; they did not hear the noise.
