I need to write a rebuttal due to [redacted]'s false statements , inconsistencies and faulty rationalizations. Here are the real facts: !.  I went to Radiant Skin and Beauty for a pedicure on 8/02/17.  I previously had never heard of them.  They called me because I won a $15.00 prize @ the Just for Her Event.  I also had a $20.00 coupon off a $60.00 service.  Also the salon advertised they specialized in  geriatric nails..  I usually have my nails cut by a podiatrist.  I have some very thick nails and one that is curved to one side.  I was a little skeptical of going to a nail tech so we set up a consult before the service. Misty, the nail tech reassured me that she  could cut my nails and would be very careful  and that podiatrists had referred her. I was in No Pain at the time and had no major problems, just long nails.  She seemed very nice and  I  decided to give her a chance After the service they gave me a pair of very primitive flip flops.  I commented that my foot felt funny but [redacted] said it was due to all the lotion and flip flops.2. When I went home I left the flip flops on for an hour as instructed. When I removed them I saw that the skin around my right big toe  was loose and looked like it was pulling  away from the nail.  It was also tender to the touch and irritated. I was very upset that evening and had trouble sleeping.3.   I went to see a podiatrist the next day 8/3 .  He examined  my nails.  He told me I had a toe trauma resulting in an ingrown toenail on my right big toe. I told him about the pedicure.  He told me that aggressive nail cutting could cause an ingrown toenail.  Since  I  was fine before the service I can only conclude that this was the reason. He also found a callus that he wanted to trim and a  few very thick nails that he said were not trimmed enough.  Therefore he had to remove my polish and trim my nails.  He told me to give it some time for the toenail to heal and to wear comfortable shoes with lots of cushioning.  He also recommended a toe protector, which I bought. 4.  I was very upset that I got an injury that would take time to heal and that she did not cut my nails properly and they had to be re cut.  Let me be real clear, I went the  podiatrist  because of my R big toe.. I then wen to the business and wanted my money back.   [redacted] was busy.  I asked the receptionist to let her know that this was very, very, important and there was an problem/to the toenail  from the service.  I was very angry that she couldn't excuse herself for a few minutes  to deal with my problem. Instead I was told she would call  about an hour later.5.  She called and the conversation did not go well.  She didn't listen to what I had to say.and her mind was made up not to refund my money.6.  She called me 5 minutes later after we hung up on 8/3.  * She said  that she would refund my money and asked for my address.  SHE ALSO TOLD ME TO STAY OFF HER PREMISES WHICH I DID , YET SHE DID NOT SEND ME THE CHECK AS AGREED. I DID NOT GO ON HER PROPERTY 5 TIMES, NOT EVEN ONE, SINCE SHE TOLD ME TO STAY AWAY.7..I'm a retired educator, with an advanced degree, and am very research oriented.  Since I never had an ingrown toenail I went to see a local nail tech at a larger co.  I showed her my nail and  also affirmed that it was an ingrown toenail. She told me about the strict standards associated with nail cutting.  She also told me that the nail nippers can cause a lot of damage when not used properly.  She was surprised how  the business owner handled my problem.8.I  gave he plenty of time to send me the check.  I only called on 8/12 and later on 9/11 to inquire about my refund.  I left 2 very businesslike messages, which were definitely not harassing.  The last message I stated that I hope we can settle this amicably otherwise I would have to get another agency involved.9.  So far I've spent close to $100. [ $50.00 copay and add. materials to help my toe heal]  I'm not done since my toenail has improved, but not healed.  I'm planning to give it a little more time and see the podiatrist again.  I'm not asking  her to cover my expenses, although that would be nice.  I'm just asking for my $40.00 back.!0.  I think people should be responsible for their own actions.  I got a pedicure that caused me many problems.  It's been very traumatic. I know that his was not intentional and a business must own up to it's mistakes.[redacted] has not kept her word and is trying to rationalize it saying she feels bad rewarding bad behavior.  I hope after reading this she will have a change of heart.11. I don't like to complain.  However the written complaints will continue to other agencies if I don't receive my refund.Sincerely,[redacted]

October 5th, 2017  Revdex.com of Greater Kansas City8080 Ward Parkway, Suite 401Kansas City, Missouri uei 64114 Attn: [redacted]  Complaint #[redacted] Good morning, [redacted]: My name is [redacted] and I am the owner of Radiant Skin & Beauty Med Spa.  I have...

had my own business for more than 16 years – 13 years in southern Missouri and the last three years in Leawood, Kansas.  This is the first complaint that has ever been filed against my company. I would like to begin by giving you some background with this complainant.  Last June my company provided the organizers of the Just For Her event with a $15 off coupon for any of our services.  The complainant called and wanted to use the $15 off on product – not a service.  I explained the coupon was for our services only and she told me if she was not allowed to use the coupon for products she was going to call the organizers of the event and file a complaint against me.  I capitulated and ordered two products for her.  One was a professional brand make-up brush cleaner that we don’t even carry in the shop and I had to pay for the product as well as the shipping charges.  The other product was for a lipstick that I do carry but do not carry that color – so I made a special order for her.   She then wanted to make an appointment for a pedicure and I assured her both products would be in the shop when she arrived for her appointment.  When she arrived she said she had changed her mind and only wanted the brush cleaner and did not purchase the lipstick.  My clinician, who has had special training to deal with clients who are diabetic and geriatric,  began her pedicure.  Our pedicures are $60 but I told her we would only charge her $40.  A decision I should never have made but I already knew we had a difficult client in our spa.  It appeared she had not had any attention to her toenails in months and maybe longer but she made it very clear she did not want her nails cut short.  After her pedicure and because she had not brought appropriate footwear, she was physically escorted out of the spa to her automobile by the technician while wearing our provided flips because we did not want her to fall. The following day she decided she was unhappy with her pedicure.  On five separate occasions she came into our spa and demanded to see me and have her money back.  I had back to back appointments all day long – which our receptionist told her – but during her last appearance she demanded the receptionist interrupt the services I was providing to another client so she could talk to me.  Our receptionist told her no, even in the face of the verbal abuse she was receiving from the complainant. I did call and talk with her later and I did tell her we would reimburse her $40.  In fact the check is still on my desk.  I also told her she was never welcome in our spa again because of the chaos she had caused in my business.  We then blocked her number so she could not harass my employees in the future. As I said, the check is still on my desk.  I am having a very difficult time believing I should reward her behavior further so don’t know if I’ll send it to her.  If you would like to receive statements from my employees concerning her behavior I would be more than happy to provide them.  In the meantime I’m still trying to decide whether to return the $40. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Sincerely,  [redacted], [email protected][redacted]
