These folks have picked a random number stating they are deserving a refund with no documentation to back it up We have responded to their attorney and he even told them that there probably was not a case so they should move on I realize by complaining to the Revdex.com they feel they are helping their cause however we consider this over, done, completed and have moved on Per the recommendation of my attorney, any information given would be done in a court of law He stated to them/their attorney that had we been in fault, they would not of continued to pay us for our services and instruct us as to what they wanted done within their home Unfortunately, when you start talking to friends, family and others, just because they tell you they could do a job quicker, better or faster, does not mean they can nor will

This client is one of those clients that will never be satisified, regardless of the outcome.  For them to pick a round number, out of the sky and request a refund is unheard of and unfounded.  No one is "skirting" any issues and we have stated to them in writing as has my attorney that if they feel they are due or owed a refund, to show where and what they are to be refunded for with the amounts.  Unfortuntatly, the client refuses to do this so therefore, it will end in a "stand off".  The reason their attorney told them they don't have a case is probably because they "don't have a case".  As far as we are concerned, we are done with this and continuing to go back and fourth is pointless.  They have been advised as to what they should and could do and as I stated from the beginning, some people you can never please, regardless of the situation.

I am rejecting this response because:
Once again, for two years now we have requested documentation supporting the spending of our funds.  Tim skirts around the fact that he has promised us an itemized account of our project but has no intention of ever producing the supporting documentation.  Our attorney never told us we did not have a case.  We were told by our attorney that Tim has outstanding judgments against him.  Thus, it made no sense for us to spend thousands of dollars to take him to court only to get in line and never collect. Until authentic documentation of funds spent on our project are produced, we will not be satisfied.

I am rejecting this response because:
The changes to our project Tim refers to were agreed upon and paid for by us in addition to the amount we had already paid for the project.  We have emails documenting the electrical change and request for a beam/trim work to be built in our living room, these were the only changes requested for our project.  Tim told us how much the additional work would be over our budget and we paid it up front. We also have several emails over the course of the project with Tim stating our entire project was  still within budget and would be completed – these emails include the work that Tim never completed and now says was over budget.  Never once did we make changes without talking to Tim.   Our request is really very simple; we want receipts and copies of cancelled checks to document how our funds were spent. We have not received anything that even comes close to that after multiple requests; but what we did receive is a partially completed renovation and no paper trail whatsoever.   We were told by the subs used by Tim how much they charged Tim for work done when they confronted US in our home about not having been paid by him. Even after adding 15% for Tim’s design services (agreed upon rate) on top of their charged amount, it in no way totals the amount we paid Tim for our project.    We understand some things are hard to itemize, but we have received nothing. Multiple contractors that finished the work that was left incomplete by Tim provided us with detailed reports of all the work they completed for us to finish the project. Tim's lack of transparency is not only unbecoming of a professional, but extremely harmful to unsuspecting clients who rely on every penny they earn.  We ask for transparency, which should be a given, but unfortunately it wasn't.

I am responding to Mr.[redacted] complaint about the work we have done in his home.  When we met with he and his wife, we made sure we went through everything, outlining the project.  We explained to him that it is normal practice for us to take a 65% deposit due to the fact that our business...

model is cost plus 20% of the job we do for any homeowner.  He and his wife were in complete agreement on the finishes and what would be done.  They explained to us that they would be taking a trip to Mexico in the midst of this project and while they were gone, they did not want anyone in their home.  Also during the job, the following we had to work around: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and 2 snowstorms.  We explained to the [redacted]. that this job would take about 4 weeks per bathroom and we would do them back to back.  If you account for the holidays, their vacation,  and two snowstorms, the time in which we completed their projects was on time.  Referencing the tile floor in the bathroom.  In fact they did pick out a rock floor for their shower floor however when we went to order it, it was discontinued.  Instead, we put a tile that coordinated with their other tile and installed it due to them not having a shower.  Initially, they were upset however realized the tile they actually wanted was no longer available.  I have in writing from the homeowner through text and facebook messaging that the [redacted]. loved the bathroom and even went as far to tell me they had shown this to several friends/family members and they thought it was beautiful as well.   As far as the marble top is concerned, we ordered it as a complete unit for their front bathroom and Mrs. [redacted] approved the picture of the one we asked her if she liked.  We have verification of this as well as have kept all text, pictures, emails, facebook messaging and communication with the [redacted].  Not only have we completed the job to perfection, we went up and beyond by painting the trim, doors, trim in both bathrooms when the entire house has stained moldings, doors, window casings, etc.  We explained that this would make both bathrooms look different, we did not include priming and painting of the things they wanted painted and that there would be an additional charge.  When talking to Mrs. [redacted] she said that Mr.[redacted] had been wanting to change the stained woodwork to white and that while in the bathrooms, go ahead and do it.  At this point, this additional charge was never passed along to the [redacted] however if they feel we have done them an injustice, we can gladly bill them for this because our original contract did not specify that it would be included.  If not paid, it would constitute a lien on their property and eventually when they go to sell their house, we would get paid. The shelf in the shower we explained to Mr. [redacted] that we would gladly put it in and needed to schedule the tile installer however in state of trying to control when, how and why it would happen, he let his frustration get the best of him telling us to forget it.  We had explained to him that we would gladly get that scheduled to be done and it probably would have to happen on a weekend (Saturday probably) however he stated he was over it and wanted us to forget it.   I realize Mr. [redacted] did not agree with nor understand, apparently, the process of us doing what we did and why we do what we do however at this point, he has two completely renovated bathrooms and having not done anything in his home in over 20 years, to me, we have added to the value of his home and increased appeal of his home if he were ever to consider selling it.  We have before and after pictures of the home and they are a telling example of the work we did for the [redacted].  Other than complaining about us and our process and the time it took to get it completed (holidays, snow storms and Mexico vacations), I think we are done!

I am rejecting this response because:As I stated this complaint meant to share my experience with others .I also asked in the complaint that I not be directly contacted by Tim B[redacted] which he did by email. It was not appropriate or appreciated to be threatened with a lien on my house for a small amount of trim work painted that he did not charge for.I would think that the unfinished shelf and bronze mirror casing that we did not receive would cover the cost.As far as the length of job we were on vacation for 1week out of 21.If you factor in 2 more weeks for weather and holidays you are still over 10 weeks over schedule. This could go back and forth but I’m ready for it to be done.I just wanted to share my experience.

I am in recpt of your complaint. As advised to [redacted] and [redacted], they are more than welcome to converse with my attorney. After discussing this matter with their attorney and having their letter responded to by my attorney, we have fullfilled our work load as instructed. We have also...

completed items that were not originally included in the scope of work therefore, causing the budgets of the [redacted] to be more. We have tried, unsuccessfully, to explain to Mr.[redacted] that just because he has friends come by during his renovation that claim they could of done the job better, quicker, cheaper and faster, he is not intitled to all of a sudden demand a refund because he is supposedly able to get a specific task completed cheaper. This is not how renovations work. Acting as his designer, I was over seeing sub contractors that fullfilled their duties for the amount of money available. Had Mr.[redacted] wanted to discontinuing using our services, he would not of continued to write us checks in order to perform services for him. Mr.[redacted] stated that he would complain and do everyting in his power to complain about us and our work. We have suggested, as has my attorney through letters to his attorney, that if they found we were at fault for any of the services provided, he should act on it however in looking at the information, my attorney found that we have done nothing wrong. Its unfortunate that Mr.[redacted] has set out to attempt to tarnish our name after 26 years however never in the time we have done business in the City of Greensboro have we had a complaint or unhappy client.
