I brought in a jacket to be dry cleaned at the end of October which I picked up and brought home. On Nov. 20th I went to put my jacket on only to discover that my jacket had been shrunk and not wearable. I had purchased the jacket in the summer on sale (org price $225.00 but purchased for 50% off) and only worn 4/5 times. I brought the jacket back to the cleaners which I've used for years to show them what had happened and to see what they would do. I had my cleaning receipt still attached to the plastic but the tag from the garment I had thrown out so the owner tried to say, that how did he know that he had cleaned it, followed by this shouldn't happen and even with trying it on was not convinced there was an issue. Said he'd sent it back to the factory to see what could be done. Today, Nov. 29th I went to pick up the jacket which is still too small to wear and ruined and after asking that they reimburse me the cost of the jacket or something, he said, no that it wasn't his fault and he would not even pay me back the $19.20 I paid to have the jacket cleaned. This unacceptable customer service. Clearly I didn't ruin my jacket and errors happen but the responsibility needs to be with the cleaner. I was upfront about telling him the cost of the jacket and getting it on sale even though I can't replace the jacket with the sale price. I also called the store to see that could validate the purchase price as I no longer have my original receipt and they were able to do so. At the end of the day, I am out a jacket and the cleaner is taking no responsibility.

Refund I would like some compensation for the cost of the jacket -- ideally the $112.50 plus tax I paid but at minimum some amount as well as the $19.20 I paid for cleaning and ruining my jacket.
Ms. dropped off one jacket on October 25, 2017 to be dry cleaned. She picked it up the dry-cleaned jacket on October 30, 2017. On November 24, 2017 Ms. came back to our store to complaint that the jacket has shrunk. Each dry-cleaned item from our store has an ID tag attached to it. The jacket she brought back did not have one. We told her the following:
1. Because the jacket did not have an ID tag, we cannot confirm if it was dry-cleaned at our store;
2. It has been over 24 days since she picked up her jacket from our store and, therefore, the remoteness in time cuts off our responsibility;
3. Ms. claimed that the length of the sleeves was shortened over two inches and arm size of the jacket has shrunk substantially; the fabric of the jacket was cotton/rayon; Cotton or rayon do not generally shrink as a result of dry-cleaning;
4. We have no way of knowing whether the jacket actually shrank. No showing of fitness of the jacket on Ms. is available before dry cleaning was done;
5. Our examination of the jacket after her complaint did not reveal any shrinkage of fabric. If the jacket actually shrank, the outer layer/material of the jacket(which is cotton) should be smaller than, and not perfectly in line with, the inner layer of the jacket(which is rayon). However, this is not the case with her jacket.
And also we suggested her to refund the cleaning charge but she rejected the offer.

There was no offer made to refund me for the cost of the dry cleaning. The tag on the back, was no longer on the jacket but I have dealt with cleaner for a number of years and he knows me as a customer and very well know the jacket was brought to him Furthermore, I had my full receipt with me. The jacket clearly has shrunk as it does not fit me any longer and in trying it on it clearly does not fit and I cannot wear. These are out and out lies in this response and clearly they have no ethics when it comes to being a reputable and trustworthy business.
