TLC Contracting

I needed my fence replaced as it was over 12 years old, my yard has a severe slope in the grade of the backyard so just like the fence that was installed over 12 years ago, it needed to be built on-site. I explained this in great detail to Tanya (TLC) when she was there to give me the estimate. TLC claims I never told them this. Understanding there can be miscommunication, I explained I can't have 2'-3' gaps under my fence due to pets and why would I replace existing fence with 8 ft panels (straight) that would create gaps and stagger severely and look terrible. TLC argued that I made the mistake and that they told me they never do build on site fences (never once came up prior to install). After two hours debating, TLC would not do the fence as I requested stating they told me they would use panels. If I would have known this, I would have refused to hire them at all. It ended up I agreed to the panel installation otherwise I would have to pay them 50% loss of profit, or they would charge me approx. $1500 additional to do build on site fence, which they told me they never do ??? TLC told me that in order for them to continue the work on the fence that they would need the remainder of the contract balance before they would start because they did not trust me that I would pay at the completion. Being that at that time ¾ of my backyard was now unsecure I felt that I had no other choice but to pay them the balance of the project to continue. I gave them my credit card for payment which they told me they only take check or cash. This is concerning to me for possible tax fraud. The fence was installed. We requested proof of Contractors License and Certification of Insurance which they refused to provide. I asked Tanya if the guys that were doing the work were their employees or were they sub-contractors, she told me that they were in fact sub-contractors so I asked the guys requesting to see their certificate of insurance. They told me that they were employees of TLC which at that time I again asked Tanya if they were employees or sub-contractors, she then told me that they were employees. I still have no idea if they were or not. TLC told me that they only would accept check or cash for payment which is concerning about tax fraud. The fence was installed, photos sent to TLC showing approximately 22 exposed screws, 15 broken/split pickets and gates not secured to cemented posts as well as installed slanted and backwards with gaps. TLC agreed to come to fix the items. I told them to contact me before coming out so someone could be there to make sure that all the items were fixed. They didn't do this and came out on to my property, going through my backyard without my knowledge. There are still issues that they didn't correct including one gate looking worse than when they came out to fix it and multiple screw/nails that are exposed. When I sent them a picture they accused me or someone in my family of damaging the gate. Unbelievable. Very unprofessional, terrible customer service, quality of workmanship was terrible. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my 42 years of homeownership. I feel as a 66 year old woman I was taken advantage of. This company never accepted any responsibility or apologized for any miscommunication placing all the blame on me. I really need someone who can help me with taking action against TLC as they have already taken a large sum of my money and I don't have enough to make the fence safe and secure. I
I now have to spend another $4,000-$5,000 to get the correct fence installed as well as will have to wait weeks to be scheduled again. Meanwhile I have gaps large enough for animals to get in and out of my back yard.
Upon further investigation with Pinellas County Construction License Board, I came to find out they aren't even licensed to work in Pinellas County and fines will be forthcoming to their company.
Unfortunately, zero star rating is not available or that is what I would give. They don't deserve a one star.
