We would like to warn others that although the TLC Pet Transport Inc. (TLC) website advertises that they use 'new' vans, if you book a 'private transport' for your pet, an independent contractor will be assigned to transport your pet in their OWN private van (versus a 'large private transport' booking or a 'group transport' booking which are assigned to a TLC customized company van). This private van may be considered 'new' in terms of year of manufacture HOWEVER the independent contractors are not held accountable by TLC for regular professional servicing of their vehicles. Because of the very high mileage and lack of maintenance, safety and reliability are both compromised - therefore we would NOT recommend anyone entrust the transport of their pet with a TLC 'private transport' booking.
I am sorry that you were not satisfied with the van our driver used to transport your puppy. Your driver Leigh was driving a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan Touring Edition. It has all the bells and whistles. It has new tires and has low mileage and it was clean. Just because Leigh got a flat tire and was late by 6 hours for the pickup of your puppy does not mean her van has not been maintained. I think you are being unfair. And you are overlooking the fact that Leigh even offered to pay for your breeders motel room although she was ONLY 6 hours late. But your breeder refused her offer because she planned on staying the night anyway. And why are YOU the one complaining when the flat tire did not affect your delivery at all. I think this is a frivolous complaint. Although, I want to treat every complaint we receive with respect. So again, I apologize that my driver was 6 hours late in picking up your puppy from the breeder.
By no means frivolous, this factual review was posted to the Revdex.com as a current testimonial in the hope that TLC Pet Transport Inc (TLC) UPDATES their company policy to MANDATE regular professional servicing and maintenance of the private vehicles used by independent contractors to transport pets nationwide for TLC - a step we consider VITAL in preventing accidents and promoting both safety and reliability. For example, according to the owner of TLC, our driver drove over 20,000 miles transporting pets in the month prior to our transport! In this instance, MILEAGE is clearly a more important consideration than the YEAR of manufacture when scheduling maintenance and defining how 'new' the vehicle is. For clarification purposes:
1) our main concerns are about the safety and reliability of the private vehicles used by TLC independent contractors (not about the time of delivery);
2) the TLC driver experienced a BUBBLE in one tire (not a flat) of her van after hitting a pothole, which contributed towards the 6 hour delay in the pick up time of our puppy. Another contributing factor (regardless of the bubble forming) was that the TLC driver did not plan enough time to drive all the way from North Carolina to New Orleans for a 1 pm pickup (even though the booking was placed 7 weeks in advance); and
3) our breeder had no intention of staying in New Orleans overnight but CHANGED her plans and did so because of the 6 hour delay by TLC. Additionally, our breeder helped out the TLC driver by driving from the pre-arranged meeting point in New Orleans to instead meet her at the Mississippi border.
Our TLC driver had an affinity for animals, but we hope TLC takes our review seriously to ensure they uphold their company motto.
