would still like to respond to the letter regarding this complaint from Mrs. [redacted] from TMG Real Estate Holdings, AKA Total Marketing Group. Regarding the carpet cleaning, we did have the carpet professionally cleaned. During my physical move, the receipt was lost. The amount TMG charged me for cleaning the carpet of $169 is very high considering it was only two small rooms. When I asked TMG to provide a receipt, they could not provide one. They should provide a receipt showing that it actually cost $169 or refund the $169. As far as the trip charge of $50 to Dakota County to change file a Quit Claim Deed, TMG would have had to drive to the Dakota County regardless to change the Contract for Deed to the new renter. The only purpose for the Contract for Deed was for TMG's benefit so it appeared that this property is not a rental. TMG does this to circumvent the association's rules limiting the number of rentals at this location. TMG should refund me the $50 trip charge fee. TMG has since changed the Contract for Deed (owner) to the new renter. Please see attached property information for this rental location. Attached is a copy of the original Craigslist ad I responded to. It does not mention that the renter needs to sign a Contract for Deed. It was mentioned after I committed to renting this property with no other option available to me. This is a questionable business practice. TMG Real Estate had no intention of selling this property to me, and I had no intention of buying it at the highly inflated price of $84,500. In August 2016 I was in the process of purchasing a condo and due to this Contract for Deed, I nearly was unable to purchase the condo because it appeared that this was a debt of mine. TMG made is extremely difficult for me, refusing to take my name off of the contract even though I lived up to all my rental obligations and paid the last month's rent (August) in advance. Respectfully submitted, [redacted]
