TM'Z Veterinary Clinic Reviews (%countItem)

To tell you that 'I'm not likely to recommend' is a complete understatement. Not only has this clinic lost my business in which I've been going to for years. They've also lost my families business and frankly any of my friends with animals will be told of my story. To give you the short version; I was quoted a price and ended up paying $575 MORE than the original quote. Now this isn't about the money it's about the treatment that I received from the staff; the manager told me that I should understand all the terms she was using when asking for a breakdown of payment, called me snarky and told me that if I don't pay in full for my animal I will not be able to take it home. Do yourself a favor and find a clinic that is reasonably priced where you don't have to put up with terrible people.

TM'Z Veterinary Clinic Response • Jul 30, 2018

Responding on behalf of the Doctor and Staff who attended to this client and her ill pet. The client was consulted with the veterinarian and the estimate for the treatment was discussed in great detail, other staff members were present when this was itemized with the owner and the owner had the option to not proceed with everything if cost was an issue. The owner claims she phoned around and was quoted a much reduced price, but this was based on the assumption over the phone of what the receiving clinic was quoting on. The doctor who attended to this patient was in treatments with her until 2am that morning. this was not a simple UTI test with exam. if it was our quote over the phone would have been similar. this complaint stipulates it wasn't about the money, for which we disagree. this was completely about the money. We are a clinic that prides our selves on providing excellent veterinary care for an affordable price. our estimates and invoices are very detailed so owners are aware of what they are receiving, we do not bundle our services into one price with hidden costs. The estimate this owner agreed to was very close to the final invoice, taxes had to be added and medications to go home. it would have been difficult to ascertain what medications had to go home without first examining and treating the pet. When the owner asked if she could pay some of the invoice and defer some, our policy does not permit that. this was explained at the time of the call. The comment that the owner ended up paying 575.00 above the quote is incorrect as this 'quote' she speaks of is the one over the phone prior to examination. The written quote was within Taxes and medication costs to which was explained.

Always the best care for our large dogs. I've watched them closely and they love & care for everyone's pets as if they were their own. I 110% trust all of there veterinarians and staff. Also very informative on home care and have great tips and tricks to make sure you're doing the best you can to care for your babies. Very affordable pricing as well. Worth the drive out. I also have a friend who travels 3 hours to take her dogs to TM'Z.

Last September (2016), we brought our dog to TM'z vet clinic for surgery. They determined the health issue was untreatable, and we opted for euthanization. We asked and were told we would pay for services when we picked up his ashes, which would take 1-2 weeks. Several months went by. We contacted them several times and were told there was a back log for cremation services, and we would have to wait. We were finally contacted to pick up his remains after 2-3 months. When my husband went to pick them up at TM'z office, he asked how much it was to pay. He had his credit card out and was ready. They told him thank you and that no payment was required. This was the individuals helping him at the front desk. We assumed it was because it took them several months to complete the services required. Afterwards, we spoke very highly of TM'z, because they had provided us very good vet services previously, and because they were kind to us in this situation. We would have gladly paid had they asked. Today (November 9, 2017), we received a phone call from a lady at TM'z, claiming she had an invoice for the services described above that needed to be paid. We explained the situation to her, but she said the vet who treated our dog was no longer there, and she was not sure who out front would have spoken to us and offered the service for free. We explained to her that we had received no email or letter or invoice since we went to the office, and this was unexpected. ***. She offered monthly payments but otherwise said we still had to pay the invoice. She was unable to explain why no one had contacted us for over a year in order to resolve this bill, and why they had just discovered it now. When she went to check our address, we let her know we had moved. She thought this was why we didn't know, but we explained we just moved October 1, 2017 and that we had been at our previous address nearly the entire year, and would have received anything they had sent us. We are devastated that we are now on the hook for this bill. We would have gladly paid it at the time, but now it is unexpected, ***.

Desired Outcome

We would like this situation resolved and the bill to be waived, as was promised to us a year ago when we offered to pay. ***. We were not even contacted (phone or by letter) about this bill for over a year since services were rendered, and were not aware it was considered outstanding.

TM'Z Veterinary Clinic Response

We had called in a Veterinarian and technician to perform the emergency surgery on the ***'s dog "***" after hours. Unfortunately the end result was a decision for euthanasia.

The invoice was completed the following day and should have been sent in the mail.

The ashes and footprint may have taken longer than usual to be ready for pickup, however, this has never been a reason to offer a credit for any or all of the bill.

We can find no reason why anyone from our office would have said there was nothing owing on the ***'s account. There was certainly no authorization for that.

The proper procedure for our staff is to check the account before giving ashes & footprints to make sure there is no balance owing and to have the client sign that they have picked up.

That doesn't appear to have been followed in this case but we don't feel that is a reason to not collect the amount owing.

We have not charged interest and have offered to allow the account to be paid in installments. We feel this is fair.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
*** We were not invoiced for the services until over a year after they were rendered. ***. I would hope they wouldn't charge interest on the account as we weren't even invoiced the *amountfor over a year. We are working with TM'z to pay solely because we do not want this to go to a creditor.
