TNS Transmissions Reviews (2)

[redacted], As stated in our written warranty (agreed to and signed by you), for out of town repair services, you must “contact the originating warrantor shop who will help you locate an AUTHORIZED and PARTICIPATING shop”.  You decided to take your vehicle to [redacted] ([redacted]) who...

was neither an “AUTHORIZED” nor ATRA warranty “PARTICIPATING” shop.  At that very point, your warranty agreement made between TNS Transmissions, LLC and you, became null and void.  However, as a reputable business, we decided to help you out in hopes to get you back on the road as soon as possible.  (And for the record, we did NOT approve any repair work on your vehicle the next morning…we were trying to get your car towed out of there to a different shop.)  The shop you picked to repair your vehicle, is a dishonest and incompetent shop. (If you would like a copy of my 15 page complaint against [redacted], please contact Robert Sproule of ATRA at ###-###-####.)  TNS Transmissions, LLC puts a written warranty in place to protect our customers and ourselves.  As a small business, we will pay only a maximum $$ amount for any warranty repair (which rarely happens) and cannot tolerate an “unlimited” liability (ie; did you expect us to pay 2 - 3 times your original repair…???).  As a reputable company, we covered over $2,000 in parts, shipping and labor (to [redacted] and directly to you)…or approximately 80% of your warranty repair.  For an analogy, your health care provider will pay 100% of your medical bills, if you use one of their “AUTHORIZED” doctors.  If you decide to see a doctor who is “OUT-OF-NETWORK”, they will only pay 80% of your medical bills…you are responsible for the rest.  Sorry [redacted], but you went “OUT-OF-NETWORK”.  Also, we followed up with you after the warranty repair and wanted to work with you, but you refused to respond to our phone calls and voice messages.  TNS Transmissions, LLC was willing to pay you the remaining $500 that you paid out of pocket…under the condition that [redacted] took over the warranty.  Unfortunately, you ignored our calls…but yet continue to bash our reputable business to ATRA, the Revdex.com, etc.  I have two last thoughts for you, [redacted]:  (1) Take responsibility for your actions (in not following our warranty procedure) and your in-action (of not responding to our phone calls); and (2) Stop continuing to slander our reputable business on social media…or your problems are going to get really big. Regards, [redacted]

Review: TNS did a full transmission rebuild in September of 2014 for $2658.84. They guaranteed their work with an 18 month/18K mile warranty. Six months later, in Houston, TX, the transmission had another complete failure. Being that it was after business hours, I had the car towed to a local Houston area transmission shop, [redacted] Transmission, that was listed as a “certified ATRA (Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association) shop.” In the morning, [redacted] contacted TNS and was given approval to begin repairing my car with the assurance of reimbursement from TNS as the original repair was still under warranty. When the repair was complete, TNS Transmission refused to pay the bill and instead sent me a check for $507.34 LESS than the repair costed, citing “[redacted] charged us too much and we’re not paying it.” So, to get my car back, I not only had to wait for certified check to arrive since TNS refused to deal directly with the shop that did the repair, I also had to pay over $500 for something that should have been covered by my warranty.Desired Settlement: I suppose an explanation would be a starting point.

Response:

TNS Transmissions did NOT authorize or give approval for your repair by [redacted]. We were trying to get your vehicle towed out of that shop. Please refer to previous posts on the Revdex.com...as I am not going to rewrite and explain it again. Not only are you completely delusional, you are a LIAR...as TNS sent you a certified check for $1,100 (I have proof...let me know if you want me to get you a copy of the certified check) plus over $1,000 in parts to [redacted] for your warranty repair. In addition, we tried to contact you to follow up and settle your $500 out-of-pocket balance once and for all...on the condition that [redacted] took over the warranty (which is still unknown to us). I also have phone records to prove that call to you (let me know if you need proof and a copy of those phone records). However, you chose not to respond to that phone message (although funny, because you received & responded to every single one of our other phone calls & messages!). This could have been settled one-on-one a long time ago...but you chose to ignore us. Have a nice life.
