This student took the classroom portion of Driver's Education in April 2017.  She got her permit on 4/5/17.  She took 6 hours of observation (2 hrs on 5/1, 5/3 and 5/19/17) and did driving time of 4 hrs (2 hrs on 5/22 and 7/18/17).  She needs 8 more hours of driving time (4 sessions...

of 2 hrs each).  As we explain to all parents, students need to meet 3 criteria to go on a road test in the state of Massachusetts.  They have to be 16 1/2 years of age, hold a permit for 6 months and be certified through the Registry of Motor Vehicles.  She is not eligible to even be put on a road test request until 10/5/17.  We do not see a problem in being able to complete her driving hours on time.Unfortunately, TNT has been inundated with 80-100 phone calls a day since Memorial Day weekend and a small office staff of 2 cannot possibly return all the phone calls for parents that believe their children should be able to drive during the summer because they are on summer school vacation.  We even requested that parents leave one message and we will get back to them as we keep a log of all calls.  They pay no attention and call repeatedly.  We have had to prioritize students that are actually due to get their license now and they are called back and time is scheduled.I was just informed that my co-worker, [redacted], spoke at length with Mrs. [redacted] and explained that we will not ever rush a student's drive time to make it easy on the parents.  Driver's regression sets in if too much time passes before they are placed on a road test.  We have seen students fail in the past for this reason.  We have scheduled the drive time that the student needed over the next 1 1/2 months and answered all Mom's questions.  No refund was ever due as she had already done her observation hours and 1/3 of her drive time.We care very much for all our students and work hard to maintain a good relationship with all.  The boom in our business was unexpected but we continue to work over and above to treat all parents and students fairly so that they complete their hours on time and pass their road test.Thank you.[redacted], TNT Driving School, 360 Washington St., Stoughton, MA 02072   [redacted]
