TOC Entertainment Corp. Reviews (1)

Review: My personal gas powered genator was loaned to Touch Of Class Entertainment to power one of the blow ups that we had rented for a block party. When the event was over the staff members failed to return the generator to me. After contacting [redacted], he refused to take responsibility for his employees and claims that it is my fault for not gettng the generator back. After multiple attempts in trying to figure out some sort of resolve [redacted] became very defensive, rude, and arrogant on the phone. He stated that he, nor his employees are responsible for returning the genertor and refused to made some sort of restitution to me which would be to replace it. Our Rental Agreement clearly states under the heading of Equipment Rented: "Generators", which they failed to provide. After this ordeal I Strongly urge anyone to STAY AWAY from TOUCH OF CLASS ENTERTAINMENT.Desired Settlement: Replace generator with the same or simular one.

Response:

response to complaint,

we were contracted to provide inflatables for a block party. the units consisted of a 3 piece obstacle course and a bounce. total of 2 units. they require 4 blowers to operate which means we need at least 2 or 3 power sources to use them. on this type of event being a block party, the customer is responsible to provide power and water if there is a water ride. this was explained to the customer in advance as well as in out terms that the customer is responsible to provide electricity. Because [redacted] has a personal connection with the customer ([redacted]'s wife is good friends with the [redacted] family), he provided a generator to the customer for the obstacle course because it takes 3 blowers to run and sometimes finding enough power for 3 blowers can be difficult because it requires multiple outlets from a house so [redacted] put it on the job to make the block party easier for [redacted]. Upon arrival of the party, when my worker met with [redacted] to go over the event, instead of having a neighbor give us power for the other bounce, he said to use his generator which he brought out to the street for our workers. The block party event happened and after all our things were down and packed up, one of my workers went to [redacted] house where he was in the middle of opening presents for a birthday to let him know we were finished and asked what do you want to do with your generator. [redacted] told him to leave it and he will get it when he is finished. The generator was left at the curbline where the bounce was a couple of houses down from his house in front of his neighbors house who was there participating in the events. Our workers packed up our equipment and left, they were give a $20.00 tip.

On Monday [redacted] contacted [redacted] at our office telling him of the missing generator. (the party was Saturday sept [redacted]). [redacted] told him he would look into it and get back to him. [redacted] had our warehouse checked for an extra generator as well as the unload sheets from the weekend. No where did we have the generator. He called all the workers on the job and asked him for the play by play and what happened to the generator. They told him the above mentioned timeframe of events. [redacted] called back [redacted] and told him that the generator was left in front of the neighbors house and he was told to check all the neighbors one must have it if you did not pick it up that night. He said he already checked and we took it. He was told we do not have it. He demanded we buy him a new one. [redacted] told him the generator was not our responsibility therefore we would not be replacing it. [redacted] then became enraged and He then threatened to call the police and take away a job which we do every year that he knows someone on and make a complaint to the Revdex.com. [redacted] responded to him he is more than welcome to call the police we will cooperate with them and they can search out warehouse anytime they would like as can he, but is sounds like a neighbor has his generator. He told [redacted] of the events at the party including him telling our worker to leave the generator he would take it when he is done where he responded "that is a [redacted] lie". We are still wating for the police to become involved so we can cooperate in their investigation.

It is unfortunate that someone took his generator, but I can assure you it was not us and I do not see a resolution to this because like we told [redacted] we will not buy him a new generator because it is not our fault he did not secure his property

I have attached a copy of the terms on the agreement where you can see on bullet point 8 customer is responsible to provide power unless otherwise agreed to in writing by both parties.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

I never demamnded that TOC replace the generator. After speaking with [redacted] via telephone, and him admitting that there was partial blame on his staff for not returning to generator to my home, I suggested that we could split the cost of replacingn the generator.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Response:

In your complaint you clearly stated under desired settlement to "replace generator with the same or similar one" and the desired settlement is replacement. That is where you wanted my company to replace your generator. We are dealing with stolen personal property. This is a matter for law enforcement. In one of the first conversations that you had with [redacted], one of the threats were calling the police. Like I said to you already, I am waiting and willing to cooperate with the authorities on this matter. We are dealing with theft of property. If it were my equipment that was missing I would have already have had the police involved. You are trying to negotiate a monetary settlement with us when you are the victim of a crime. Restitution should be made by the perpetrators of this alleged crime. I can not make a police action on this equipment because I am not [redacted] of the equipment or I would have done so already. I suggest to you to notify law enforcement and let them do their investigation and find out who has your generator and when they find the perpetrators of this crime then you can seek restitution from them. Like I said already, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement in their investigation to aid you in correcting the problem.

I will not enter into monetary negotitations on this matter as it is a criminal act and not damaged property. If one of my employees damaged or broke the generator or someones personal property in some way I would have already either had your unit fixed or replaced, but we are not dealing with that we are dealing with a crime. I have already told you the results of our own internal investigation into the events of that day and I will make my facility and all my employees available for law enforcement investigation.

Sincerely,

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I never threatened [redacted] on calling the Police, all I stated was that it might be an option. Furthermore [redacted] admitted to me that there was some wrong doing on the part of your staff. If he doesntn want to admitt that to you , then he is not telling you the entire story. When your staff was done for the day they NEVER came to me and said they were done with the generator, or made any attemp to return it. Your Company and staff should be held resposible to make some sort of restitution for the equipment that YOU borrowed, never returned, and is now missing. If this is the way your Company wants to conduct business, and risk your reputation its going to be a bigger loss for you than anyone else. I will not have have a problem finding another place to rent Bouncie Castles from. If you want to speak to me in person, please feel free to contact me.
