Hello. First of all, I would like to start out by saying Mrs. [redacted] is a very hard worker in her community. She does put in a lot of hours of volunteering for many areas. However, she puts in a lot of rallying for a specific political party. In the world of pageantry, political rallying and...
favoritism is not a pageant related activity. I messaged her a couple of times explaining that cannot be counted as part of her pageant work. Mrs. [redacted] has had controversy with something to do with anything from day 1. There have been arguments between her and other contestants/queens. There have been confrontations on her non involvement in keeping up with the pageant information in the group. She was provided as much of a break down as we had. Bottom line, the entry fee pays for pageant operations, expenses, venue, prizes, crowns, sashes, some meals and admin expenses. She did not seem to understand, even when I provided this to her. Not sure what she was looking for. Profits? No we don't make a profit. I NEVER said we are now non profit. I said we were going to be non profit in the future. Those are HER words. As far as the person who had 2106 hours... that is ALL volunteer hours. She volunteers for a homeless shelter and mission home in [redacted]. She also is a rehab counselor and spends enumerable hours helping addicts clean up their lives and get right with God and get jobs, etc. Her children also volunteer. The hours were not combined. That was not the qualifications for the Spokesmodel competition. It was judged by the judges, who had just arrived on the ship and judged this competition. She was not a runner up in that competition, so NO Spokemodel award will be given to her. Even if it were, I would have to disqualify 6 of the 8 for her to win that title. At all times, there were schedules, communication via [redacted] while still at port, and staff around to assist. There was no scam going on during the year. No one requiring money. We sold tshirts and things. She bought one on her own. The color choice was required for the opening number and the shoes were required by a designer. That was up to her and the designer to get her order right. It was very difficult to sequester judges on a ship. They could not go to the other end or anything. If they had to eat, there was one dining area. Yes, the ladies made light conversation but there was a chaperone present at all times. These were very professional judges and would never think of being swayed to vote for some one saying hello. I have no clue what she means about gift giving to strangers. You are asked to bring an inexpensive gift for your sister queens. They should not have been strangers, had she been involved during the year, as suggested. Photography was separate and if you did not pay then of course he was not going to photograph you. Makeup artists were very busy and I am not sure why they had to pay her "attention". Now, the attitude situation and the chair filler. The morning of interviews, the judges themselves witnessed Mrs [redacted] having some sort of hissy fit on the outside of the room with some of the other ladies. They could see her flailing her arms and raising her voice. They were mortified at her behavior and even a little fearful, with what all is going on in our world today. This was told to me, as I was not there at that moment. There is no such thing as a "seat filler" in a pageant system. Not that I have ever been involved with. She has caused her own fate. She was given what she deserved. A gold pin and certificate for Presidential Volunteer Service Award. 2nd runner up in the pageant. A wonderful opportunity to have a vacation with her family and meet new friends. How she utilized it is her own fault.
