Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/08/13) */
Contact Name and Title: [redacted], owner

Contact Email: [redacted]@yahoo.com
My apologies to Mr. [redacted], I was under the impression that he had a better understanding of the extreme efforts we...

put forth, and the added financial costs we incurred while completing the vehicles repairs yet we still stuck to the original estimate that he authorized. You will notice several inconsistencies and some omissions in [redacted]'s complaint. This was not a conventional repair, we were waiting on things out of our control like the machine shop repairs, Nissan customer support (where we filed a case on the customers behalf) , and parts vendors. [redacted] was very patient throughout the process and did not mention any issues with the price of repairs during multiple conversations that we had. We notified [redacted] at the exact time of completion yet the vehicle sat on our lot for four additional days. The day [redacted] stopped by to pay for the repairs he asked to speak with the owner, we sat in my office and [redacted] said he would only agree to pay for parts and should not be responsible for the $622.50 (not the $391.24 he put in his statement) of labor that he authorized, because of complications with the repair. I listened to [redacted]'s concerns and welcomed the opportunity to explain the obstacles we had to overcome and the resources we used to provide him with a quality repair that is guaranteed for a full year! We were honest and forthcoming with the unforeseen mechanical failure (it was a mechanical failure, we did not break the part) to the camshaft, I explained that additional labor costs, head gasket set, head bolt set, and necessary fluids were all provided at no charge to him. [redacted] was only expected to pay for the original head gasket repair that he authorized. When I would not agree to [redacted]'s demandes he said "then [redacted] you!", at that point I asked him to leave my office, [redacted] stomped out of my office and exited the main door, a few minutes later he reentered the building and threw his credit card on the counter. [redacted] gave me his word that he would pay for the repairs and he would not dispute the charges, he then asked what we recommend for the next oil change interval and due to the extensive repairs we performed on the engine we recommended 2,000 miles. Before [redacted] left I offered him a free oil change ($40 value) when he returned to insure the engine's performance, reliability and longevity.
Even though it took a bit longer to complete due to a series of unfortunate events, the repairs to this vehicle were approved by the customer and performed to the highest quality, therefore we do not feel that his demands are reasonable and that a reimbursement is in order.
I greatly appreciate your consideration in informing [redacted] of my heart felt apology for not explaining this in a manner that he could more easily understand. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance towards achieving a satisfactory resolution of this case.
